View Full Version : Any veggies in here?
Caiman April 13th, 2005, 01:54 AM I've had this on my kitchen cupboard door at uni for some time now, and suddenly one of my vegetarian housemates whom it was aimed at irritating has started kicking up a stink saying that it's offensive?

If you were a vegatable hugging extremist, would it bother you?
DonQui April 13th, 2005, 02:12 AM :master: props to you dude.
slave1 April 13th, 2005, 02:25 AM Tell you what, I've been veggie on and off, I've been on demonstrations with P.E.T.A and everything, that little poster wouldn't bother me...your housemate is melodramatic.
Caiman April 13th, 2005, 02:26 AM I do delight in telling him that because he is a veggie, 2 extra animals are dying than would normally, so he's actually responsible for double the death he would be if he just ate meat.
DonQui April 13th, 2005, 02:30 AM I am fine with people being extreme tree huggers, but don't start preaching at people. Nothing makes me want to sink my teeth into some Grade A T-bone steak than hearing veggies bitching about how wrong it is for me to eat meat. Look at my canine teeth, nimrods, we's meant for eatin animals, beyotch! :D
alphaxion April 13th, 2005, 02:39 AM jon: tell him that he is a murderous and sadistic bastard for slaughtering and even eating plants alive.. and just because they don't have a face and make a cute noise doesn't mean they aren't sentient... he's just picking on the plants cause they don't have a face.. the unescapable fact of life is that something must die for another to live... pure fact. regardless of if you go against your biology and digestive system by goiung veggie or if you eat meat.. something has died for you to continue living...
fuck the disney lion king "circle of life" crap.. in reality it's a circle of death that keeps life where it is!!
slave1 April 13th, 2005, 02:52 AM Who actually thought of milking a cow...? I mean, how did that doscovery come about...it keeps me up nights :|

Caiman April 13th, 2005, 03:05 AM So that's the part of the cabbage you don't eat!
The wheelchair...
Had always wondered. But ehm, Stephen Hawking is one of the UK's finest exports, after Chilean Red Wine.
DonQui April 13th, 2005, 03:07 AM is one of the UK's finest exports, after Chilean Red Wine.
The UK exports Chilean wine? :sly: :D
Caiman April 13th, 2005, 12:40 PM Our main export is actually garlic flavoured vaseline but we like to keep that under wraps. I've made trillions from it.
Cabman April 13th, 2005, 03:05 PM Our main export is actually garlic flavoured vaseline but we like to keep that under wraps. I've made trillions from it.
Is this the same garlic flavoured vaseline common in most brands of suppositories?
JDRS April 13th, 2005, 09:06 PM Yeh, I'm a veggie but that wouldn't really bother me because I can take a joke. I don't have a problem with people eating meat but it's a personal belief and I'm not going to force my beliefs on others.
By the way the U.S.S.U.R. sounds like a good idea.
ROYAL BLUE April 14th, 2005, 12:37 AM That pic at the top is funny as fcuk!!!!!
Doyle April 14th, 2005, 11:40 AM Scrub the vote for 'I'm Disgusted'. I thought it was 'I'm Disgusted At Vegetarians'.
My misses is a vegie but because she doesn't agree with intensive farming.
I however eat meat and no veg. In fact, if we are eating out and there is a vegie with us, I will order the most bloody thing on the menu. I get delight out of the look of their face as I mop up the blood from my steak with my now red chips. What a bastard I am.
JDRS April 14th, 2005, 06:17 PM What a bastard I am.
Indeed.
caw123 April 14th, 2005, 07:29 PM I've been brought up as a veggie, but have rejected it.
SimonTheSoundMan February 6th, 2013, 06:02 PM My GF is a veggie, I enjoy my meat too much.
belfastuniguy February 6th, 2013, 06:06 PM I couldn't be a vegetarian. I love meat far too much, it's just too delicious to give up!
wjfox February 6th, 2013, 06:07 PM Mega bump!

CharlieP February 6th, 2013, 06:11 PM I reckon way more people should be vegetarian. It would be far better for the planet, and it would leave more tasty meat for me.
DBadger February 6th, 2013, 06:12 PM I'm a vegetarian and I don't even care.
belfastuniguy February 6th, 2013, 06:13 PM I'm a vegetarian and I don't even care.
Ewwwww
alonzo-ny February 6th, 2013, 08:00 PM My flatmate is veggie. Some of the stuff she cooks looks like vomit. I don't know how veggies ever satisfy their appetites.
DBadger February 6th, 2013, 08:01 PM Easy, your friend sucks at cooking. I eat fabulously. I should post some recipes sometime.
eddyk February 6th, 2013, 08:02 PM RIP caw123
xerxesjc28 February 6th, 2013, 09:34 PM Maybe it's because I am used to Hispanic food, but becoming a vegetarian was not that much of a change. Most of the food Hispanics eat are some mix of rice and beans with some other stuff added on. I basically still eat mostly rice and beans since becoming a vegetarian, don't see what's disgusting about that.....
p.s. We are talking about vegetarians here right, not vegans? Because Vegans are like the extreme form of vegetarians as far as I see it. Take away my cheese from my cold dead hands!
Stairz February 6th, 2013, 10:30 PM I reckon way more people should be vegetarian. It would be far better for the planet, and it would leave more tasty meat for me.
Not sure what your sexual preferences have to do with this but okay.
kids February 7th, 2013, 01:39 AM Easy, your friend sucks at cooking. I eat fabulously. I should post some recipes sometime.
Yeah do that. Do you subsist mainly on quorn/meat alternative or are you more inventive than that?
I'm incredibly lazy so I usually just do quorn with pasta or in a stir fry or something.
alonzo-ny February 7th, 2013, 09:06 AM I am pretty sure Trekie is a turnip.

You've inadvertently bumped a thread with "Fucking Dutch" as one of the poll options.
Caiman February 7th, 2013, 02:35 PM What a bizarre thread.
I eat more meat than ever these days, thanks to my Low Carb, High Fat routine. I couldn't live without meat. Also; Fucking Dutch.
PresidentBjork February 7th, 2013, 06:24 PM What did the message say?
makita09 February 9th, 2013, 03:29 PM I was veggie for 5 years or so, but gave up because it is so hard to eat out and I don't have a moral problem with killing shit.
But, I still eat veggie for well over half my meals, because;
Its cheaper
Animal protein encourages cell growth which I don't need as I'm old
Most meat is fed on grain which increases omega 6 balance vs omega 3
its full of crap unless you buy expensive, so healthy meat eating is reeealy expensive
it is bad for the planet
if everyone on the planet ate meat another 1 billion people would starve to death
there are more not meat foods than meat foods ergo veggie food is more varied an interesting
which is good because I'm not really into food, its an annoying distraction
DBadger February 9th, 2013, 03:33 PM Surely the only place to eat out is Nando's, who have an ample vegetarian selection.
