I know RLS can be VERY confusing for people not accustomed to them and sometimes miss -quoted in papers and even by planners/architects themselves. okedoke! mikeyraw July 14th, 2004, 04:43 AM Whens construction starting? Dilaz89 July 14th, 2004, 04:49 AM when they sell enough apts chrisaus July 14th, 2004, 05:03 AM GUYS!! im only going to say this ONE more time! the heights of 152.4m and 171.4m are AHD or heights above Australian Height Datum! these figures are exactly what the planner told me months ago and i then posted on the forum! i then told everyone that the shorter tower (TOWER 2) is at RL2.5m thus 150m above ground!! the taller tower (TOWER1) is at RL10.5m thus 161m above ground!!! !!150m & 161m! The $250 million housing project comprises more than 1,000 apartments, shops, offices and restaurants. Urban planning group City Vision has been strongly opposed to the development claiming it is too big for the site and contravenes a height limit policy. But after mediation with the WA Planning Commission, Westpoint has a proposal it expects will now get government approval. http://www.abc.net.au/wa/news/200407/s1153574.htm Dilaz89 July 14th, 2004, 05:54 AM does it still need wapc approval? CULWULLA July 14th, 2004, 06:04 AM sorted out on last page...... wrong!! the road height 10.4m at the base of tallest tower, not 17m! 172.6 - 10.5 = 161m!! Dilaz89 July 14th, 2004, 06:11 AM btw i stated in the other thread that it wont be 152 and 171m high before you told us again CULWULLA July 14th, 2004, 06:30 AM btw i stated in the other thread that it wont be 152 and 171m high before you told us again lol chrisaus July 14th, 2004, 06:40 AM http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid128/pf03598dad52743dd36e7f7537904182f/f7dbad77.jpg NZer July 14th, 2004, 07:48 AM They could use the bit under the freeway for $100 - $150 per week apartments.lol I gotta say I am happy with those renderings. NZer July 15th, 2004, 11:10 AM lol@dilaz & lol@Homer too. chrisaus July 16th, 2004, 01:21 PM Towers planned for brewery site One of Perth’s biggest and most strategic vacant lots will become a multi-storey residential and retail complex under plans approved by the City of Perth. The Council has approved a two-tower development proposed for the old Emu Brewery site at the western end of the CBD. The 4-hectare site has been empty, and an eyesore, since the old brewery was demolished more than ten years ago. Plans submitted by Greg Rowe and Associates, on behalf of Westpoint Developments, include a 52-storey tower and a 46-storey tower. The overall development includes 1010 residential apartments, 2319 square metres of retail floorspace, 1372 square metres of office floorspace, 1239 square metres of restaurant floorspace, a tavern and health-club facilities. The Council has incorporated strong provisions relating to public space, landscaping and pedestrian access in its development approval. These provisions include: -Public plaza areas within the development, containing landscaping, water features, furniture and lighting to a value of not less than $1 million -unrestricted pedestrian access through the site -public artwork to a value of not less than $300,000 -streetscape improvements in the vicinity of the site to a value of not less than $1 million -a safe and efficient pedestrian connection from the site to the southern side of Mounts Bay Road, preferably an overpass, linking up with the Perth Convention Exhibition Centre and the river foreshore The Council has also made the development conditional on retaining views between the site and Parliament House. The site is bounded by Mounts Bay Road, Mount Street, Spring Street and Mitchell Freeway. The development application will now be referred to the WA Planning Commission for its determination. http://www.perth.wa.gov.au/html/org10_.php?title=Towers+planned+for+brewery+site&date=2004-07-16 NZer July 16th, 2004, 02:14 PM They should have screwed more than $1mil of streetscape imrovements out of westpoint, but I guess they aren't getting off that lightly considering they have to link the conv centre to the site, landscaping etc. Dilaz89 July 22nd, 2004, 04:42 PM sweet f.a. has happend since last update chrisaus July 26th, 2004, 11:48 AM will be going thorough WAPC atm Homeroids July 26th, 2004, 01:44 PM I thought it got past that? Now comes the wait with the marketing and sales. This is where we hold our breaths. chrisaus August 8th, 2004, 06:04 AM http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v391/perthwa/6b2716ed.jpg perthguy78 August 8th, 2004, 10:04 AM good pic.. but really this is more of a pic of mount street......... thanks anyway :D its a great pic... shows how dense the area is but still so green :D CULWULLA August 8th, 2004, 12:06 PM how high are they again? lol good stuff. let the site begin! Perth needs these 500footers now!! Homeroids August 8th, 2004, 12:49 PM High enough :) Guys, do you mind if part 2 of this thread is started since it is over 500 posts? Dilaz89 August 8th, 2004, 01:29 PM 161m and 150m chrisaus August 13th, 2004, 07:15 PM Westpoint have re-lodged a DA for cinema city site. -27 Levels 99m perthguy78 August 13th, 2004, 08:09 PM fark...... have they even sold pac intl and paragon? give cin city to finbar or multiplex :D Dilaz89 August 14th, 2004, 03:32 AM they are dickheads. right now, a cinema city redevelopemt would probably benifit the city more than swan pan. kota16 August 14th, 2004, 04:04 AM Swan Panorama apartments will sell like hotcakes to Singaporeans. It will also fit well with the Hay shed, which requires counterbalance. :) Homeroids August 14th, 2004, 04:06 AM Westpoint have re-lodged a DA for cinema city site. -27 Levels 99m Ok, well that's unexpected but gee I hope the market is ready for all this stuff. Dilaz89 August 14th, 2004, 04:09 AM is half still going to be a hotel? chrisaus August 14th, 2004, 05:47 AM the cinema upgrade is needed badly to compete with suburban cinemas, even cities as big and melbourne I read are having trouble keeping the CBD cinema viable, so the ugprade is much needed, to keep people coming to the CBD for movies, and to the CBD in general because coming to a movie means getting something to eat etc etc.. and it feeds on around the CBD economy, unlike the suburban ones where it goes to a mega malls food hall ie. 'macas mate' mikeyraw August 14th, 2004, 08:24 AM I still go to the cinema city in perth everytime I go to a movie. Nice easy clean leather. I think that has something to do with the midnight shows. :p chrisaus August 14th, 2004, 08:26 AM yes its still a proposal for hotel/residential, I think it would be good having more hotels in the core CBD to get people closer/and create some action because adelaide terrace is a little isolated from the retail/entertainment precint heart perthguy78 August 14th, 2004, 12:49 PM ? isnt is on hay street? ... nowadays i rarely go to the CBD for shopping.. i go to Garden City.. everything under one roof and free parking :D...... i cant remember the last time i went to cinema city. have they still got that awful carpet :D>.. i like the jaws sushi in there :p very nice....... i think until there is more ppl living in the city center the cinema wont be popular there.... i think the toys r us location they had proposed was much better...... :D chrisaus August 14th, 2004, 01:02 PM its on hay and murray ie. cine centre and cinema city are both owned by same people.... I haven't been to a suburban mall to shop in atleast 2 years other than to pick up a free xpress mag or cash in a skratch and win ticket, I cant stand them, so fake, sterile, ugly, concrete, wigga, shazza dazza, fast food, commercial, car park driven dives yuck yuck yuck urban shopping all the way, but the more mega malls and sprawl the more dead the CBD will become, without people supporting the CBD it will die, say goodby to alot of tourist, goodbye jobs, life and vitality other than the suburban life, suburban malls are evil, bring back the corner store chrisaus August 14th, 2004, 01:04 PM i glad I got that out of me now of to mount lawley for hot choclate and cake:D |
