View Full Version : JEDDAH l COMPLETED l Red Sea Mall.
SkyFan April 19th, 2005, 12:12 AM RED SEA MALL
This mall is now under construction and it's due to open in early 2007. It will have 400 stores with a total area of 200,000 sq m. The project will cost around SR 500 million. I belive it will be the largest mall in Jeddah.

It reminds me of Garnada mall in Riyadh. They even have the same area!!
Qatar4Ever April 19th, 2005, 07:10 AM Nothing that striking about it !! But quiet big !
huit April 19th, 2005, 09:24 AM I see no pic??
Bahraini Spirit April 19th, 2005, 12:49 PM Not bad, it's big afterall. I dunno why this reminds me of IKEA for some reason.
HiJazzey April 19th, 2005, 01:00 PM I'm not sure it is the biggest, Sari city (u/c) looks bigger. But it is certainly big.
I passed by the site when I was in Jeddah, I remember it being well under construction . I would've thought it would be finished before 2007.
Anas Anani April 19th, 2005, 04:37 PM is there any more renders? and where is its location??
SkyFan April 19th, 2005, 07:55 PM Yes there are more renders at the website.
den2dxb April 22nd, 2005, 06:08 PM I like it's simplicity. I don't like gaudiness and too much detail. JMHO. I found it interesting about the reference to IKEA. IKEA=Scandinavian=minimalism.
Moody August 13th, 2005, 05:41 PM Very nice,,
Khouri August 14th, 2005, 09:52 AM I hope they will have an underground parkings that will make it better.
Moody August 14th, 2005, 11:52 AM ^that's right, like most of new malls in the gulf
samba_man August 15th, 2005, 07:56 AM Nice renders !
HiJazzey August 15th, 2005, 09:34 AM I hope they will have an underground parkings that will make it better.
Not common in Jeddah. Expensive to build undergound, because of the high water table.
Moody August 15th, 2005, 07:02 PM they can have the parking on Ground floor and mall above!
and huh, Anas was Banned, my wish came true,,:):):)
SkyFan August 18th, 2005, 01:34 PM and huh, Anas was Banned, my wish came true,,:):):)

Michael_23 March 7th, 2008, 08:13 PM Cool, Jeddah does its best not to be worse than Riyadh.
clearsky March 8th, 2008, 08:08 PM Looks cool! Interior has resemblance to the new Bangkok airport.
tahir.DDS March 10th, 2008, 03:59 AM nice looking mall, this picture reminded me of the new expansion in dubai airort(DXB).http://www.redseamall.com/images/gallery/IM
womfalcs3 March 23rd, 2008, 05:16 AM Looks nice.
Why couldn't they have written "Soog Al-Bahr Al-Ahmar" in Arabic rather than phonetically say Red Sea Mall? It should've been translated.
Our language is being shoved aside as we expand economically and socially.
Saudi guy March 24th, 2008, 11:43 PM ^^its marketing, investors always searching an unique names (usually not arabic) that can attract people easily,so if they write it an Arabic maybe its wouldn't looks that stylish as with English!!!

I mean often times it would make it sound like one of those traditional open markets if you call it "Soog Al-Bahr Al-Ahmar". Makes it sound like that one mall in Al-Safa (can't think of its name...Soog Al-Soorya is it?).
.... and that's a problem that I have, and the culture has. We have this mentality that our culture is inferior to some others.
If I ever start a business, I'll make sure to use the proper Arabic translation. (Not that I have plans or the ability to do so).
ZK March 28th, 2008, 05:44 PM lol...it does look like an airport....i say add some check-in desks and Passport Control desks and a few seats....wud serve better than current Jeddah's Airport
Saudi guy March 29th, 2008, 10:54 PM ^^good point ZK i agree with you,the exterior design suitable to be as an airport!

Isn't Starbucks an openly Zionist company? I am surprised to find it in Saudi Arabia... Your money spent there eventually goes to destroy Palestinian homes in occupied territories.

Maybe this is a question of blind following of fads... I would rather not buy anything from where some of my money could be used to commit humanitarian crimes.
But then, this kind of thing is hard for trend crazy people to understand.
