Hmmm, apparently I have a "strong automatic preference for White People relative to Black People". In my defence I didn't read the question properly and was caught out when the categories were switched around then waited about 30 seconds for the red X to disappear...

i have a slight preference for blacks over whites, a slight preference for young over old, and no preference between either the uk or the usa.

i think it is bollocks. it depends on the situation for my preference to young and old, old are less threatening, young are more fun, so if i am on a night out, i would prefer to go a young bar, if i am sitting on a train, i would prefer to be surrounded by a bunch of old people than a gang of 17 year olds.
and i probably prefer the usa to the uk, but i have a strong aversion to the politics of the USA and gwbush, so in that test the symbols they use to represent the nations are of crucial importance.
as for blacks over whites, i am at a loss to how i got that result. if anything most my friends are educated and middle class, and blacks in the uk are disproportionately lower class and uneducated, so i would assume a slight bias against them.
furthermore, one with a good memory, quick reactions and the ability to hold seperate ideas in their mind at the same time, while always lean towards a neutral score, someone who does not possess these qualities may unwittingly end up with a wildly unexpected score, like CharlieP :lol: .

i just did it, it worked fine, except it never bothered to give me the results. ten mins of my life wasted ill never get back. obvious what it was trying to do though, association tests are easy to fool :)

I think it's only natural to feel more comfortable with people of a similar culture. A white person would feel more at ease with a class mainly filled with white people and a black person would probably prefer a class with mainly black people. This doesn't apply to everyone of course but i mean to say it is not racist to feel this. I have asian friends but i can imagine some felt intimidated when in class filled mainly with whites. i don't think anyone would argue this is not natural. This test seems stupid. People have a normal inclination to find people from their own country who have similar charactersitics more appealing. This is just a safety mechanism. We are bound to feel more at ease with what we know. As we become more mutil-clutural this might change. I would never insult another person because of their race but i'm sure most people, whatever their culture, or race, in the main) prefer to be with people who share this identity. I find it funny people can be accused of being racist for these inclinations. I am quite a liberal person but i hate the tension that often builds needlessly between races because of over-simplyfying an important issue. As long as people live sise-byside peacefully and interact of their own accord there would be no problem. I think the real racists who are completely ignorant and dis-resepectful of other cultures should be clamped down on. We need to get over the issue of thinking racism is a white or black trait as this is completely wrong. There are racists in every society who have pre-judice views of outsiders. It is individual and not specific to countries or a certtain type of person. Teaching tolerance and respect can only help the situation.
P.S i can't get through to the test but i know i'm not racist anyway. This is what i thought but might slightly contradict what i was saying in the post. It allows for a little preference though.

I think it's what you grow up with, I went to a school where there only three other white kids in it and there were times you would catch yourself in a mirror and suddenly realise how different you look - to me a normal looking face was a black one.

So is this test saying its not possible to have a preference in favour of Black People, - like the way from what people are posting it seems to present racism, as a white man thing.
