View Full Version : #PROJECTS: Fraser Coast
JayT April 21st, 2005, 09:55 AM Its about time we had a thread dedicated to Hervey Bay. The city actually grew by more people than the entire sunshine coase according to the ABS - so there is probably some construction about.
Anyway here is a massive aerial to get people into the mood.

Joe April 23rd, 2005, 05:06 AM I was in Hervey Bay the other day for a wedding. Quite a bit of construction. Most of the buildings are about 6 stories. There is apparently a new casino that has been approved, the renders on site looked about 12 stories

KJBrissy March 3rd, 2008, 02:37 AM BTW Peppers^^ is now completed.
Are we able to make this a Fraser Coast Thread by any chance? There is a proposal in Maryborough for a massive Flight training Centre with accomodation, recreation hangers etc:
http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h11/KJBrissy/QueenslandFlightTraining.jpg
There is also set to be a proposal soon for the riverside opposite the Maryborough CBD for 1300 lots including a massive marina and parkland which will include a beach/swimming area similar to Southbanks in Brisbane. There is tipped to be shopping and commercial as well. The project will include a large variety of housing types. End value $500M!!!!
Not bad for a city of 27,000!
KJBrissy March 6th, 2008, 12:32 PM $500m Mary Harbour a 'breathtaking' project
February 28, 2008
28.02.2008 (http://frasercoastchronicle.com.au/storydisplay.cfm?storyid=3765012)
A "breathtaking" half-billion-dollar marina, resort and residential development will start to take shape in Maryborough in about two years.
The Mary Harbour development unveiled yesterday by the Maryborough Sugar Factory will be built on a 179ha waterfront cane farm at Granville, across the Mary River from Aubinville.
Mike Barry, CEO of Maryborough Sugar, said Mary Harbour would become the flagship project for "what is becoming one of Queensland's vibrant regional centres".
A hotel, 300-berth marina, retirement home and "South Bank-style" riverside boardwalk had been included in plans drawn up by a world-class urban designer.
JayT March 7th, 2008, 03:33 AM Here we go again - another Queensland City taking off.
Maryborough is beautiful and I hope they don't ruin it.
It has probably the most spectacular collection of Queenslander style architecture and houses to be found outside of Brisbane - its really worthy of a drive around.

KJBrissy October 14th, 2011, 07:40 AM Mary Harbour now has a website (http://www.maryharbour.com.au/) and a development application is imminent. It is a massive project for the size of the city.
As it is all in flash, can't get the pics down at work.
DQ October 14th, 2011, 08:06 AM Truly massive for the region, just hope they realise how high the Mary River can get around there in full flood. It's one mighty river.
fastsunny March 1st, 2012, 01:44 AM Any news on this project?
