actually... all the way to lau pasat (old market).

from bedok (first pic) to bedok jetty took about half an hour.. 9.33pm to 10.05pm.

10.05pm to 11pm - from bedok jetty to pretty bridge.

try it out when you have time lar! during holidays or something... this wasnt even during my friend's holidays hhaha but since i'm only in singapore for two weeks at a time she took time off doing jc work :)


the first time i undertook such a journey was end 2002 i think... from downtown east to lau pasat also, but i took a cab back to the chalet :P someone's bike broke and i took it back to chalet and he took mine :) was happy to snooze on merc cab - and he paid for my fare too!

we didnt want to go out so late that we would have to go home in the morning, like what happened to the previous group - it was really really hot for them while i was snoozing happily :) and i accidentally locked them out of the chalet too :P

traffic wasn't too much of a bother really... we mostly stuck to the side.

we can't cycle on expressways! from tampines, i cycled down the road with temasek poly, then uh... followed bedok reservoir and uh turned turned turned until i go to bedok interchange, where i met my friend. i forgot how to get there and had to get a fellow cyclist quite a bit younger than me to lead the way. quite embarrassing.

then from there we went to bedok jetty (dont ask road names) and cycled along the beach until uhmm fort road (i think) / ecp junction. went along tanjong rhu, crossed the bridge, then to stadium boulevard, had ice cream, went along uhmm road connected to both stadium boulevard and nicoll highway (dunno what road - mountbatten?), then along the road that crosses kallang river and has kallang mrt and lavender mrt station beside it and then finally the city.

well i'm quite sure that jumble of words is unreadable :p

How did you all keep from getting lost?

well the route from tampines to bedok i *sort of* know, even though i had to ask for directions to bedok interchange, and the route from bedok interchange to east coast she knew. our secondary school (dunman high) is just at the end of east coast park so it was no problem getting there. she usually carries on to the city via nicoll highway bu that was closed, so we just improvised a route via bugis / city hall lor. we used to take a bus from school to the city so i could roughly remember lar.

but i realised going via ecp was ultra long, so on the way back i took a route parallel to it but further inland. it was actually shorter.. and my friend was quite amazed i could guess my way through sg.. but it's not difficult! sg so small!

Yah, once at night I ran all the way from Market Street to Clifford Pier, not following anyone or asking for directions.
