View Full Version : Ocean Park in Manila Bay
ryanr October 29th, 2006, 12:40 AM And since a swimming area and snorkeling activities would also be available at the park, the consortium would be cleaning the murky waters around the Manila Boardwalk.
:? But it would still be polluted...lots of industry and the seaport nearby.
But anyways, glad to hear it is finally u/c:)
Bosnyboy October 29th, 2006, 02:55 PM Yah the water there is very polluted. Ironically, one of the employee in our company lives in the baseco compound known before as a squatters colony and is just a few kms away from this ocean park said the water there is so clean after a japanese company cleaned up the area. He also said people on sundays usally go swimming in the waters. They also catches lapu lapu (garoupas) and crabs as well as prawns which they grill after swimming. I guess theres still hope for the water on that part of ocean park.
le Reine October 29th, 2006, 03:50 PM ^wow! I can't believe it! I want to observe that place and see it myself. My hopes are soaring high right now.
Edmundtanso October 29th, 2006, 06:53 PM well, i hope for the best in manila bay. i hope they could maintain it clean...
marites4 October 29th, 2006, 08:24 PM ^ parts of it is already clean.so there may be hope yet.
marites4 October 30th, 2006, 02:25 AM I don't know i really didn't go to that area. There are still parts that are still smelly of course , around the board walk the ccp area etc.. when we went it didn't seem to smell , not like before the stench was horrendous. I don't know if only because it was rainy season why there was no smell . But my point is that stench can be removed if there's a will. JUst look at Singapore clarke quay area that used to be worse than pasig and now there's no smell no water lilies. the water is still murky but it looks descent considering the clean environment around it.

When I was last there in December, the waters around the Jumbo Restaurant were smelly and there was garbage floating around.
pau_p1 October 30th, 2006, 05:35 AM hmmm.. actually on average day, Manila Bay doesn't smell whether you're in Baywalk, in CCP, or in the Promenade of MoA.... maybe after a rain portions smell because of water spewed to the sea from our canals and creeks.... but generally it doesn't smell..
also the Bay itself seemed to have improved... though on the Promenade of MoA, there are still a lot of garbage there either from rivers and sea or thrown by the people spending the afternoon on the ledge... but yeah they can fish on the sea...
faux_ph October 31st, 2006, 05:02 AM you can only smell the odor during low tide.
Askal82 October 31st, 2006, 05:08 AM you can only smell the odor during low tide.
Imagine if Miss Universe Philippines answered the question plus making an anecdotal reply that Manila bay stinks during lowtide in addition to having 7,107 islands.
shadow_can2003 November 3rd, 2006, 12:10 PM ^^ Tuloy paba to? Hmmm, wala na kasing balita dito eh.
kennethologist November 3rd, 2006, 01:37 PM the developer of this project was featured recently on one episode of Korina Today on ANC... they discussed about the benefits of this to the country...but no renderings...
JAMAICUS November 3rd, 2006, 01:39 PM Can anyone go near the u/c area and take some pics??? Please....
OtAkAw November 4th, 2006, 08:48 AM ^^I doubt it if they've even placed fences there yet.
JAMAICUS November 4th, 2006, 08:58 AM ^^I doubt it if they've even placed fences there yet.
Well, forumers who have been passing near the area said that construction is on its way... and, the Philippine Tourism Agency head said on the talk show "Korina" that the Oceanrium is in its way...
Bosnyboy November 4th, 2006, 04:02 PM I passed by there again this early evening and yes its fenced. Cant peek inside coz the fence is made of flat metal sheet like the ones used as roofs. I also saw cranes.
cruizer333444 November 4th, 2006, 08:42 PM those are positive news!!!
marites4 November 4th, 2006, 09:15 PM this will be beautiful once it's finished. An ocean park by the bay. It will complement all the other projects there like MOA turned out beautiful.
thomasian November 5th, 2006, 07:21 AM ^^ Um, but MoA is on the other end of the bay?
marites4 November 5th, 2006, 08:09 AM eventually they'll connect.
IMPRESARIO November 5th, 2006, 03:08 PM wow, parang seaworld only smaller in scale, cool!

Rence December 11th, 2006, 09:57 PM Naka-fenced off lang yung lugar
Lili December 11th, 2006, 10:20 PM ^^ I wonder how many years it will take to construct it and make it fully operational?
pau_p1 December 12th, 2006, 02:52 AM oo nga.. parang that site looked the same as last December when we were there...
FrancisXavier December 12th, 2006, 07:54 AM ^^ I wonder how many years it will take to construct it and make it fully operational?
as i can remember, the article regarding this says this should be operational by Dec 2008.. :ohno:
bustero December 13th, 2006, 09:05 AM they're building a hotel on it as well

Bosnyboy February 2nd, 2007, 04:26 PM Passed by Luneta this afternoon and i noticed not only is a mobile crane operating but a tower crane is already up. If you stand along roxas blvd facing the grand stand, you will notice the tower crane looming overhead. Id say great news coz work is progressing albeit very slowly though. Well this is the Pinas things really work soooo slow hehehe Hopefully at this rate the ocean park will be finish by 2017 hehehe
kiretoce February 2nd, 2007, 05:09 PM ^^ Or it would be stalled at 98% finished indefinitely just like T3.

I saw that crane too. A blue one at the back of the grandstand.
tigidig14 February 2nd, 2007, 11:11 PM so theyre building the park or theyre just building another building over there?
crappypants February 3rd, 2007, 01:19 AM 2017 makakalangoy pa kaya ako non.

thats like imitation sea world or somewhere close to that. i dont think you should swim with shamu
kiretoce February 4th, 2007, 04:33 AM ^^ Some here in Orlando snuck in to Sea World ofter hours and swam with the orcas, they found is his lifeless naked body the next morning.

Bosnyboy March 11th, 2007, 03:02 PM went walking by the seawall yesterday and great news they're already constructing the ocean park. Several concrete posts are up. Unfortunately work is proceeding at a very slooooow pace Oh well at tleast theres some activity
demented_pigeon March 11th, 2007, 03:20 PM anyone have pictures regarding this?
migoy March 11th, 2007, 04:26 PM wala lang :) Just found this pic sa google. mukang sa 2017 pa nga matatapos to haha although there are improvements :D

Sometimes, slow and steady wins the race.
At least it will be finished (on or before 2009) :)

I smell a NAIA3 type of mess. I say it'll open when Jesus comes back.
Bosnyboy March 12th, 2007, 04:07 PM I think the reason why its moving soo slowly is becoz of funding or the lack of it hehehe Had this project been an ayala or henry sy's then i tink this project wud already be in the finishing stage na with lots of media hype already.
garzland April 13th, 2007, 07:40 AM hey, any update of this project?
tigidig14 April 14th, 2007, 04:49 AM hinuhuli pa yung mga isda sa manila bay

Raktak April 14th, 2007, 04:02 PM PTA is more focused on its sports center in intramuros...
Bosnyboy April 15th, 2007, 10:33 AM Passed by the place again last friday afternoon. Majority of the concrete post is already up. Pretty soon the roof and the interiors na ren. Saw more workers working already. It was 630pm when i went there so i saw construction lights also lighted.

 Glad to hear that the construction is progressing, albeit in a slooowww pace. I was just wondering why this project does not get that much media attention. Perhaps, it's better to have a low profile so as to avoid those people with crab mentality. I hope they speed up the construction. Tourism is on the upswing and this will surely be a great attraction.
Bosnyboy April 16th, 2007, 03:34 PM They probably dont have funds for organizing press releases and press conference like dat. They may not even have enuf funds for the actual construction, thats why its progressing sooooooo slowly. But i still hope it gets finished before all the fishes in the sea gets extinct. hehehe. By then they will have to open a natural museum instead of an oceanarium
bustero May 31st, 2007, 07:26 AM Status of end of May.

Despite protestations from the peanut gallery here, This project is AOK, 1st phase opening for Dec 2007. The plexiglass for the acquariums have been delivered, they hope to have the roof up in month (also because it's rainy season and they are 4 weeks delayed already so they have to catch up for december).
This project is world class and will definitely knock your socks off. They'll have everything including a walkthrough Fish Tank and when Phase 3 (2 outdoor lagoons behind Qurino Grandstand ) are done this will be the largest oceanarium in asia outside of Japan.

ryanr May 31st, 2007, 09:20 AM yeah, finally an update. thanks bustero. I dont mind if its slow progress, as long as its moving along.
Insanedriver May 31st, 2007, 09:40 AM finally!
bustero May 31st, 2007, 11:18 AM Actually it's not that progress is so slow. They were apparently held up by beaurocracy. They thought they already had all the permits then a new round of red tape came in threatening to torpedo the project, only a call to GMA saved this, also there is a long period of time to find and grow the live portion . This is apparently more technically difficult than just building some old building. ANyway Now it's proceeding full blast. Btw phase 2 which is a small mall with hotel opens 2nd quarter 08, 3rd phase lagoon 3rd quarter.
el_dasik_oo1 May 31st, 2007, 11:50 AM nice! Boom! Boom! Boom! I wonder sa pag-open nito.. There is a possibility na me mga taga-PETA, magproprotesta dyan... hehehe

Insanedriver May 31st, 2007, 01:58 PM I'm a big supporter of these kind of organizations pero not on this project since this project talks about conservation at bubuhayin naman ang marine life sa Manila Bay so baka hindi sila magrally

We have a forumer here who's a member/staunch supporter of PETA. :okay:
alexela May 31st, 2007, 03:39 PM im a member of PETA. but im not a radical one. medyo exaggerated nga yung iba sa pag protest. but you cant blame them, pag nakita mo kung pano tratuhin ang animals nako baka mag-member ka na rin.
nyways, for me this project is fine as it will conserve what remains of manila bay's marine life. just dont feature dolphin and sea lion shows. that's abuse already. nood ka na lang ng national geographic free pa pag may cable ka.:)
MNL May 31st, 2007, 06:49 PM Speaking of PETA, hope this is right here..

ok. hehe.. yep, yung iba nga exag eh.. Kahit nga yung mga inosente na nagkataon lang na-nakasuot ng fur eh binabalibag nila.. that's what i hate about them *opinion ko lang ito ah :D* .. :ohno:
If this project promotes awareness sa marine life natin, ok lang.. yey! National Geo hehe.. kasama yan sa list of channels ko.. :p
bustero June 2nd, 2007, 07:12 PM I'm not sure if MOP will feature sea lion shows but I have no problem with this sort of thing. I don't think it's abuse at all. I think PETA itself is neither ethical nor truthfull. In any case before we get more OT let's just leave it at that. Back to topic.
JustHorace June 3rd, 2007, 03:54 AM Nice! Finally, a confirmation of the project's continuance. Thanks for the photos, Bustero!
Rolls-Royce June 3rd, 2007, 12:56 PM Maganda yang pag ka-pose ni Sophie Ellis-Bextor hawak-hawak yung patay na hayop. Medyo gruesome nga laang. I hope people would get the message.
tigidig14 June 4th, 2007, 07:40 PM i agree it can be a good poster for some gruesome movie
sista June 5th, 2007, 04:02 AM I love Sophie and the ad, though I don't think the park would actually do harm in Manila Bay's marine life since a lot of it is dead

FrancisXavier July 1st, 2007, 05:53 PM kala ko aquarium ang gagawin nila... looks like they're building another Subic's Ocean Adventure-like destination in Manila.
bustero July 1st, 2007, 07:02 PM They call it an Oceanarium. I'm not sure if it includes shows like Subic. The first phase is all aquarium.
The third phase are the outside pools for big fish some of these can not be trained.
Asteeg!

bustero July 4th, 2007, 10:14 AM I don't think they have a final design for the facade believe it or not. They've several studies for the cladding but were still deciding. I hope they go for the outa this world one that looks like a giant coral. That would make it a real landmark.
I must say I wouldn't mind eating both items in that ad!!!
kiretoce July 4th, 2007, 04:45 PM ^^ The "Water Cube" arena/stadium for the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics can be a nice themed inspiration.

RP soon to have own oceanarium
By Rainier Allan Ronda

A P1-billion marine theme park will soon make a big splash at the former Boardwalk area along Manila Bay.
The theme park will include a “tunnel walk” through a giant aquarium.
The former Boardwalk area is now the site of busy construction activities for the much-awaited Manila Ocean Park, scheduled to open to the public on Dec. 15 this year.
Manila’s very own “Ocean Park” is envisioned to rival those in Hong Kong, Bangkok, the United States and other places that have become certified tourist attractions.
The construction of the proposed Manila Ocean Park is being supervised by the Singapore-Chinese firm China Oceanis Group Ltd., which plans to have a two-level oceanarium and a “Concourse Plaza” that will serve as a bazaar and restaurant by the end of the year.
Poon Choon Hai, the construction head of the Manila Ocean Park, has expressed confidence in meeting the target completion of Phase I of the project by yearend.
“We are on schedule,” Hai told The STAR in an interview.
Hai revealed that the acrylic fish tank for the 25-meter tunnel walk wherein a visitor can walk through and see fish and other sea creatures swimming above, is already in place.
“The work is progressing very smoothly,” Hai smiled.
“We think that the park would be a pleasant Christmas surprise for Filipinos,” he said.
The China Oceanis Group boasts of expertise in marine theme park construction development, having constructed a total of five such landmarks – four in China and one in India.
The group was behind the construction of the Chong Qing Xinao Underwater World, the Qin Huang Dao Xinao Underwater World, the Tai Ping Yang Underwater World and the Nanjing Underwater World, all in China, and the Sahara Star Hotel in India.
George Lim, curatorial head of the Manila Ocean Park, is excited, saying the Manila Ocean Park will be unique since it will feature the Philippines’ diverse marine life.
“We’ll try to get all the best ones that can be found in Philippine waters,” Lim said.
Tropical oceanarium
The main feature of the Manila Ocean Park is the state-of-the-art oceanarium that will be filled with colorful tropical fish of various species and invertebrates indigenous to the Philippines.
The state-of-the-art facility will have a transparent acrylic-made tunnel to provide visitors with the experience of walking underwater and viewing sea creatures.
For the Concourse Plaza, it was learned that there was a proposed construction of a three-story Bay Pavilion, with a 15,566-square meter floor area, which will have retail shops, souvenir shops, restaurant facilities and a plaza for special shows and activities.
The top of the pavilion will be open, with especially designed tarpaulin roofing, to house a big food court offering Filipino and Southeast Asian cuisines.
Meanwhile, the Marine Discovery Park will be landscaped with fountains and marine life.
Phase 2 of the development includes the construction of a shopping mall and a hotel in the complex.
Hai said they target to complete the mall and hotel by April 2008.
Phase 3 involves the construction of an “open water habitat” which is mainly a man-made lake that can offer scuba diving for adventurous visitors.
The open-water habitat is scheduled for completion by July next year.
It was learned that the seawater for the various tanks housing the seawater creatures would be taken from Manila Bay.
Ronnie Pangan, Manila Ocean Park marketing officer, said huge investments were made just to procure state-of-the-art equipment to filter the Manila Bay seawater and ensure good quality for the survival of the sea creatures and make it acceptable for use in the tanks.
Pangan said as much as 12,000 cubic meters of Manila Bay seawater would be required for the tanks of the park.
Among the creatures to be housed in the tanks are barracudas, sharks, and rare and still largely unknown seawater fish found in Philippine waters.
Pangan gave assurance that the ticket price for admission in the park would be affordable.
“We have to make it affordable because we also want to make the park accessible to everybody, whether they be foreign or local tourists,” he said.

Cool, at least Luneta can now lose its cheapness, which IMO also extends to Manila Hotel.
odyssey August 14th, 2007, 03:45 AM The architectural design does not complement the Manila Colonial architecture.
In other words, baduy tingnan. It looks like a cheap carinderia behind the statue of Rizal. Using arches instead of a chopstick shape cladding support would make it look a bit nicer.
kalbongdad August 14th, 2007, 06:53 AM well...that is a new destination.....hopefully it will click..and revive that part of the park that has been neglected for quiet some time...
Maxxclip August 15th, 2007, 06:55 AM Wow! Just like in Singapore
bustero August 15th, 2007, 07:08 AM Iyun ba iyung design , corny naman, not so nice.
kalbongdad August 15th, 2007, 07:20 AM i think....ok naman sya....what we should be interested in...is the feature...coz it might end up just the same...sa mga aquariums sa kl or sentosa...what is important is what differentiates it from the other aquariums....in SEA...wag na tayong makipag compete sa japan...dahil if you've been to okinawa...malulula ka sa kanilang aquarium features...
Sinjin P. August 16th, 2007, 09:47 AM Yup, we should offer something unique, something uniquely Filipino. Ano kaya? :D

Hmm....would a seafood restaurant in the park be too extreme and inappropriate?
Louman August 18th, 2007, 03:10 AM ^^ What you see is what you eat. Shark fin soup and whale sushi will be on the menu. Let's hope PETA doesn't learn about this. haha.
JustHorace August 18th, 2007, 04:49 AM The current design looks like a mall in China. The should've made a roof that's similar to the shape of the pawikan's shell. Then the sides should've been all glass, with steel bars for support and protection from the bay.
Lili August 18th, 2007, 05:04 AM The building design is unimaginative. They should have designed something more distinctive and not a run of the mill box design.
kunoL8 August 21st, 2007, 04:52 AM ^^ yeah, it is uninspired. i was actually hoping that they'd match it with the surrounding buildings and give it a colonial look. i like horace's idea too.
kalbongdad August 21st, 2007, 05:20 AM who knows the design might turn out ok....the pic taken on the brochure...is blurry... come dec....we should have something to look forward again... i just hope it will not disappoint ...

paulirium September 3rd, 2007, 10:50 AM Check out the new website of Manila Ocean Park.
I think the design was totally REVISED, what a surprise. Now it looks like a mall! Based from its new design, what mall in the Philippines it resembles to?
I’m looking forward to this new addition in Manila. I hope by December they really open this magnificent structure. Wish there will be no T3 issues on this one.

IMO, they should have done a curvy sloping front and back man lang. Would help during typhoons rin.
Hope they change the design and come up with a Filipiniana look.

i agree with you the design looks ok....the shape compliments the curve quirino grandstand..... the entrance with the 5tier sail like thing...is good...the pool on each side...is a good feature and the circular garden...really looks ok..... it will resuscitate...that part of luneta that has been left to rut.....

pau_p1 September 4th, 2007, 04:18 AM yeah... Yes, something that will replace the jeepneys and Igorots they show in tourist websites about the Philippines. Not that they are something to be ashamed about. But there are other worthwhile things as well.

kunoL8 September 4th, 2007, 11:22 PM well, it does look better than the old rendering but it still looks bland and unimaginative to me. also, it seems like there's more space availiable for stores and restaurants than for the oceanarium itself.
kalbongdad September 5th, 2007, 04:14 AM well if there are shops...all the more ok....it needs income to maintain it...if it will just depend on the entrance fees...i don't think it will be able to maintain it for a long time....it might close shop 6mos after.....and besides yan ang pasttime ng mga pinoy...to eat...and shop

First ever in the world? Mall na may may view ng basura?
^^ Kulang nalang "SM City Luneta" na logo.
Hope they change the design and come up with a Filipiniana look.
O kita n'yo, an ordinary Filipino can say na "SM" talaga ito
Yeah rename it Ocean Park Mall. It's really more a mall than an Oceanarium. So far, boring. Don't they have an underwater walkway where you can see some ocean life while walking through it? That will be a redeeming factor if they have one.
Anyway, I'd still go there.
Underwater walkway with all the trash?
FYI
There is more space devoted to the Oceanarium than leasable mall space.
THere is a walkthrough acquarium (undewater walkway). I've seen it being built.
The Ocean park people also said that they were build a first in the world-Night Oceanarium. Basically similar to Singapore NIght Safari but for fishes. I don't know if fish swim more at night but apparently the light effect is different (glow inthe dark fish?). Basically it's to create a one of kind experience and distinguish the attraction from other City's acquariums.
Oh I am redeemed
360? ano yun natatapakan na rin yung aquarium? so habang naglalakad ka puede kang nakatingala, nakayuko or nakatingin sa kaliwa o kanan.
Not 360 please, nakakalula 'yan
_zner_ September 9th, 2007, 08:33 AM im quite satisfied with their design. at least its better to have a not-so-attractive oceanarium than having nothing. I never really thought that we would have one.
kalbongdad September 10th, 2007, 10:31 AM btw...i was in the phil tourism travel mart.....and manila ocean park...yup that is the official name.... had a booth there shaped like a transparent tube with fishes in it...so its official now...it will have a moving walkway inside a transparent tube of 25 meters.....or roughly 75 ft......to view the sea creatures...the other good thing about it is it has range of restaurants and a botique hotel...in their flyers...is says opens December 2007...so sa xmas....meron na naman ...mapupuntahan...after makapamasko kay ninong and ninang....
pau_p1 September 10th, 2007, 11:08 AM ok lng yan...eh ayan lang ang kaya ng pinoy eh...
I don't think this is a Philippine government or a local Filipino corporation project.... this is a project investment by a Malaysian and Chinese company if I'm not mistaken.....
Sinjin P. September 11th, 2007, 04:37 AM And I don't like that mentality "'Yan lang ang kaya ng Pinoy". Seriously, if we would want, we could do better ;)
Lito September 11th, 2007, 05:37 AM BoI okays P1b oceanarium
By Elaine Ruzul S. Ramos
The Board of Investments has approved the P1.1 billion ocean park venture of China Oceanis Philippines Inc. at the back of Quirino Grandstand in Luneta Park.
The proposed Manila Ocean Park, approved as a pioneer tourism project, would be built on the 1.2-hectare Luneta boardwalk platform facing Manila Bay. It will consist of an oceanarium, a marine discovery park, promenade areas, a boardwalk and a themed and landscaped pavilion. The theme park will open in February 2008.
As a pioneer project, the theme park venture will enjoy a host of fiscal and non-fiscal perks, including a six-year income tax holiday. The Manila Ocean Park project is a joint undertaking of Singaporean, Malaysian, Chinese and Australian proponents led by China Oceanis Group.
Trade and Industry Undersecretary and BoI managing head Elmer Hernandez said the project is expected to create 1,830 new jobs. “Thus, the new project is beneficial not only to tourism but to the labor sector as well,” he said.
Hernandez said the BoI is biased to projects that generate investments and offer new jobs to Filipino people.
The theme park aims to become a major tourist destination in the Philippines and in Southeast Asia with an oceanarium complex complemented by a marine life-themed cultural, lifestyle and entertainment pavilion, and park facilities.
It also aims to create a grand “People’s Park” along the bay for both local and foreign tourists to enjoy.
The project is designed to support the thrust of the Philippine Tourism Authority as well as the Manila City government to revitalize the area.
The main feature of the Manila Ocean Park is the state-of-the-art oceanarium that will contain thousands of sharks, colorful tropical fishes of various species and invertebrates indigenous to the Philippines.
The state-of-the-art facility will have a transparent acrylic-made tunnel to provide visitors the experience of walking underwater and viewing the sea creatures. It will be a unique and world-class educational and entertainment complex dedicated to showcase the rich and diverse marine life of the Philippine aquatic environment.
The park would also feature themes such as the “Jungle Trek,” “Seven Seas” and the ‘Lost Atlantis.’
The three-story Bay Pavilion, with 15,566-square meter floor area, will have retail shops, souvenir shops, restaurant facilities and a plaza for special shows and activities. The top of the pavilion will be an open-air area with specially designed tarpaulin roofing, which will house a big food court offering Filipino and Southeast Asian cuisines.
The Marine Discovery Park will be landscaped with fountains and marine life. It will be made available to the public for free.
DTI Secretary Peter Favila welcomed the new tourism venture, which is expected to perk up further the economic activity in the Manila Bay area.
“The project jibes well with the economic program of the city, specially its ‘Buhayin ang Maynila’ program. Roxas Boulevard is lined up with first-class visitor facilities and the upcoming theme park will be a big boost to the country’s tourism program which will cater to both local and foreign visitors,” he said.
Lito September 11th, 2007, 05:41 AM Manila Ocean Park project is being supervised by the Singapore-Chinese firm China Oceanis Group Ltd., which plans to have a two-level oceanarium and a “Concourse Plaza” that will serve as a bazaar and restaurant by the end of the year.
Take note... WALA NA PONG BASURA SA PALIGID NG MANILA OCEAN PARK

pansin ko lang po.. parang ang PILIPINAS ay pinag-iixperementuhan lang ng mga giant entrepeneurs and investors, don't you think? i mean, they don't really care or let's put it this way.. they're not like into it, they're not devoted to their project.. well, that's what i can see so far.. mall in manila bay?!? what the!?!? i'm gonna be proud if they'll start cleaning ***T..
i don't wanna start something here, but we as a PINOY should start doing something that's PURELY PINOY.. a friend of mine here said that we're lucky enough that we got a SAINT considered to be a FILIPINO, but the truth is, LORENZO RUIZ has a chinese decent.. that some kind of a direct insult to us, well at least for my part..:bash:
what's wrong in this gov't ba?:ohno:
i know that out there, filipinos especially here in SSC are envisioning modern architecture that can and WILL stand out, if looked upon by the gov't..
well, that's my opinion po..:)

Medyo nagkakamali ka yata dyan pare... kasi limited naman ang nakukuha mong information regarding sa mga pumapasok na investment from the other countries.
Try to contact Dir. Jasmin ng Office of Tourism Standards, Dept. of Tourism.

yeah, i'm wrong on some ideas..
but, what i mean is, foreign investor esp. chinese are taking over, the businesses in the country.. sabi nyo ang ocean park is a joint venture of S.E. asian countries.. the chinese has a major part in the northrail project, SM malls, are like mushrooms sprouting everywhere.. what's left with us? BUS company, restaurants etc..
hey i don't wanna argue with you though..:)
i admit i have limited infosabout that, but basing on reality and what you see around you... you can't help but notice it.. thank god we still have ayala (STA. LUCIA realty)..:)

pau_p1 September 11th, 2007, 08:18 AM i felt insulted at certain extent since i am part Chinese and but Filipino in heart...
let's not procrastinate if the Chinese community is building big businesses in the country.. I'd say I'm more proud with the Chinese people who made the Philippines their home... they are trying hard to help the economy of the country by putting their businesses here in the country... they work hard to keep their businesses alive even though they're under threat of kidnapping or other lawless acts.. but look at the ordinary Filipino who either procrastinate that the government is not doing all their whims for them... as if they're doing something to help themselves.. (of course there are exceptions)... or just run outside the country and disgrace his homeland or speak ill of it after praising or licking asses of other foreign countries they call imperialists...
well.. each investor local or foreign of course would need to budget what they think would rear profits for his investment... of course they want to go into business and not into charity.... so I think that let's just be happy that they are putting their businesses here... at least they can provide work for ordinary Filipinos....

Last Saturday i visited the Phil Travel Mart Exhibit in Megamall and Manila Ocean Park is one of the exhibitors. I noticed that there are plenty of young people taking photos inside their booth. With their recent promotion in Travel Mart the people now are very excited to see the real ocean park. Membership and entrance fee are still subject for confirmation.
If you want to know more about Manila Ocean Park

Lito September 11th, 2007, 09:23 AM yes they have membership but as of now they are still finalizing the package.
but the entrance fee is around 10 USD.

bakit malaking milagro? Try to call their office and ask them paano nila nalinis ang lugar na yun at kung papaano nila matatapos ito sa Dec. 15, 2007 which is the grand opening na.
Lito September 11th, 2007, 09:52 AM The Oceanarium is a 1.2 million gallon aquarium that will showcase various marine life like sharks, stingrays and tropical fishes. It will have an acrylic walkthrough tunnel where people can have the experience of walking underwater with fishes swimming all around them.
The Bay Pavillion, a multi-level complex will house retail stores that complement the Oceanarium as well as establishments that will showcase the best of Philippine cuisine, arts, and crafts.
Phase II is the creation of a sandy beach along the existing breakwater in the Landside facing the Platform and the transformation of the water sea between the Platform into a self-contained swimming pool area for the public.
Phase II is the transformation of the current park on the Landslide into an Ocean Discovery Center. It will have various pool ponds that will have stingrays and star fish which the public can touch.
pau_p1 September 11th, 2007, 10:55 AM this is really a good project.... this will push the local government and the investors to clean up the bay... by hook or by crook.. for it to succeed...
