four brothers just wrapped up..

"Manna From Heaven" was shot in Buffalo a couple of years ago. It was a smaller budget film, but it had some pretty recognizable names in it: Shirley Jones, Shelly Duvall, Cloris Leachman, and Wendy Malick (from the TV show, Just Shoot Me, and I think I heard she is from Buffalo)

I know this is a buffalo thread but i was going to make a Upstate NY movie thread.

Syracuse doesnt have a whole lot but there is one quasi-populer movie based and shot in syracuse,"Freak talks about Sex". Stars Steve Zahn and Josh Hamilton and is pretty fuuny. They show it on HBO all the time and it has Carousel mall, Downtown, and Even lookers in it, yes a strip club. It doesnt hype up syracuse but its cool to see them talk about Syracuse.

One thing that is very odd about this movie though, the actors talk about syracuse like they live here, such as mentioning Syracuse streets and suburbs like Valasko rd. and Solvey...

was bruce almighty filmed on the streets in buffalo? or a soundstage? I can only remember once scene where he was standing in front of a beautiful set of light blue(?) rows

I think originally it was going to be filmed in buffalo, but in the end it wasn't.

I guess scenes actually had been shot of Buffalo, but did Jim actually come here...no (from what I understand)

Then there's that strip club in Cheektowaga, just down Transit Road from Williamsville (Rick's Tally-Hoe or something). I guess if you live in downtown Buffalo, it's best to travel out to the 'burbs if you're lookin' for some illicit (immoral?) activity.

Funny you should mention Rick's Tally-hoe. The guy that owns Ricks is a super Buffalo booster. He recently came back to Buffalo from Las Vegas were he had several very successful businesses. He bought a mansion in North Buffalo for $1.3M (which gets you a lot of house in Buffalo). He is currently planning a swank new restaurant in the Buffalo Club Building. If you have ever been in that building you would know that their are some very beautiful spaces which would be great for a restaurant. The Buff News just did a story on him. Thankfully he puts all his "gentleman's" entertainment in the burbs.

Erie County has some horrible clubs for the devils games, but I can say Rochester has a few good ones, but all the best is still at the Falls and in Canada.
