lol. indeed my power comes from my post count rather than being one of the people who founded this place ;) always was under the impression foriegners are welcome here, we have plenty of regs on the uk skybar who arent british, an increasing amount infact.
i quite like the idea of electing a uk skybar mod for a period of six months, im not a big fan of elections normally but the idea of having it time limited and to the stupid forum only makes me more receptive. if it was done so someone could serve one term only i could live with that, makes it sound like jury duty almost.

I know the 45 second rule works well in preventing double posts, but does it have to be so long? Why can't it be 25 or 30 seconds? That way it will still prevent double posts and give the rest of us a peace of mind.

well, seems as though the C.A.F.S.R is weakening, thanks to WJ, and Matt for their support, and I shall thank all our supporters with a pledge: This will show what we want to do (or not in the case of the 45 sec rule) with YOUR Skybar. We want to address the problem of Moderation, or the lack of a problem with moderation. Things are perfectly good as it is. This shortening of the 45 second rule proposed by the C.A.F.S.R would seriously damage the delicate balance our Skybar has of spam and useful/productive posts. Potential edits would be left un-edited, a new post created, making it very difficult for anyone who wants to engage in the argument at hand. Having to filter through 3 or 4 edits at least a page is not helpful, or enjoyable. I dont know about you guys but I generally have to edit about 1 in 4 of my posts quickly after ive posted. So, I say again, we dont want un-necessary posting by everyone, not just members of the C.A.F.S.R, so let us keep the 45 second rule. Thankyou.

i too am catholic. i feel that my religion informs my political beliefs - jesus has made me see that time is of the essence, and that just as the smallest insect is as important as the greatest whale, that 45 seconds is as vital as eternity.

i mistakenly voted for wwwfwhatever, i want my vote transferred to C.A.F.S.R. it was confusing, i almost voted for pat buchanan. i made a mistake! rectify it!

Nelson Mandela today handed a huge coup to the C.A.F.S.R campaign by officially endorsing the candidate Medo.

The former South African president and 1993 Nobel Peace Prize winner is one of the most respected and recognised faces in the world and has cited his frustration at posting at SSC.com as a key reason for his support.

Mandela said in a statement: "There is no place like SSC.com. It is a wonderfully diverse and open website providing a voice to hundreds of different nationalities from all over the world. I can't think of a better place than SSC.com to come to for chilling out in the afternoons.

"The 45 second rule is a nuisance and must be stopped. For a man my age every second is precious and should be spent having fun not waiting around for my post to go through."

Leader of C.A.F.S.R Medo said: "It is an honour to have such a respected international figure supporting our election campaign."

Claims that Photo was 'Faked'

Photographs allegedly showing the Muppets backing WWWTFFSRA were faked by a lone internet-user, it was claimed today.

Sources close to the WWTFFSRA leadership told the Daily Newspaper that the images were doctored to show the Muppets threatening voters in support of the party.

A spokesman on behalf of the Muppets made the following statement : "We are all terribly distressed by this apparent hoax. The picture in question depicts the Muppet Neighbourhood Watch scheme, which as you may know, was formed in response to the homophobic baiting Ernie and Bert have received in recent times."

"How these words supporting the WWTFFSRA appeared on the photograph i will never know. We would ask the general public to not be alarmed by this fraud, and to disregard it. The Muppets claim absolutely no affiliation with the party in question. We shall be talking to our lawyers later today."

Fragmentor was unavailable for comment.

A dramatic new twist emerged in the SSC elections last night, as Georges Bush's war administration declared their full support for the rival election parties, C.A.F.S.R and W.W.W.T.F.F.S.R.A, and called for a merger of the two groups.
