great photo ^^ truly one of the worlds best. are there bridges in shanghi, or are there tunnels?

there are currently about 11 tunnels(4 more under construction) for vehicles and 6 tunnels for subway trains underneath Huangpu River, and 6 main bridges over Huangpu River(Nanpu, Yangpu and Lupu bridges are the three most known).

there are also one cross sea bridge, the 32.5 km (20.2 mi) long East Sea Bridge, and one cross Yangtze River tunnel/bridge project(combined total is 25.5 km or 15.8 mi) in suburban Shanghai.

10/10 no words can say how great Shanghai's skyline is.

One of the world's greatest skylines. I was lucky enough to go there in September 2010 and see it for myself (staying on the 55th floor of the JW Mariott Hotel at Tomorrow Square, no less!) Standing on the Bund at night looking across the river at the skyscrapers was truly awe-inspiring. 10/10 for a truly amazing city!

I think that the photo was taken from Wheelock Square and is looking down on Nanjing Road West. The temple is Jingan Temple.

Shanghai is a clear winner. The skyline is so beautifully shaped across the Huangpu River and Lujiazui area. It's hard to beat. I think only NYC and Hong Kong can live up to the same quality.

Although the single buildings might be a bit too futuristic and tacky for my personal taste, I'll have to go for a 10/10 for the whole skyline.

^ Interesting comment, I was absolutely blown away when I went to Shanghai last year just before Expo. On the way to the airport travelling along the elevated motorways above the rooves of 10-15 storey apartment buildings pretty much all the way (around 30km). I've never seen it before either!

The skyline and the city is amazing, 10/10, a gigantic mass of tall buildings. Pudong area is certainly the focal point for the supertalls, however the rest of the city and urban area just goes on and on with some pretty interesting architecture along the way.

Nice roads. I don't think I've ever seen any elevated that high in an urban environment.

9.5. A very impressive skyline and in my personal top five favorites. Many of the towers have a cool futuristic look to them. In time it may join New York and Hong Kong at the very top of the list.

Yeah, it's from Xujiahui, my favourite part in Shanghai where I also live. It has one of the largest traffic intersections in Shanghai and obviously the most beautiful decorated middle section of an avenue in the city.

And of course, who doesn't adore the GG twin towers? :D

Well on it's way to deserve a perfect 10. The only 2 cities i gave that rating are NY and HK. I gave SH a 9.

The skyline is gigantic. But is it only me or are there several towers which look a bit silly and over the top (same as in Dubai)? In terms of style I prefer Beijings skyline.

Can be one of the greatest cities on the planet in the future.

ive been to shanghai n hongkong,honestly i see shanghai skyline is better the hongkong,before this i thought HK is the best,but after arrives there..its full of unfinish building,the street quiet messy and the building is to crowded.but it still in 3rd ranking after NYC n SHANGHAI.

Why Shanghai's sky always foggy?

The sky would get pretty foggy in downtown SH in the afternoon as traffic increases. Having too many skyscrapers definitely traps pollution.

I would say not only Shanghai and China first tier cities are changing almost everyday. 3rd tier cities also follow the same. China city just awesome !!!

How walkable is Pudong? Meaning on the street level, how does is stack up with Chicago or NYC (2 cities I'm very familiar with). My impression is that Pudong has a lot of infrastructure for cars and that Puxi may be the more walkable part?

10/10 for Shanghai. It's the future capital of the world, move over London and New York.

10/10 I love SH, I also think that it is the most interesting city of the world. Unfortunately, most people in my country don´t know about it, because they can´t see for example new pictures of Pudong in our media and it´s a pity. Maybe they are waiting the time, when the fastly developing New York will be more beautiful than Shanghai, when the One world trade center + Two, Thre, Four, Five... world trade centers will be standing :lol:
