I've seen it a couple of times lately, someone making a post with thousands of animated smileys.

Here is an example (http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showpost.php?p=3964540&postcount=253) (will some mod please delete that post)

The thing is that it makes the thread incredibly slow to load and it could even crash browsers I suppose.

Can the forum software be set to allow only a limited amount of emoticons per post, maybe a maximum of 100 per post?

crap! that thing just won't stop loading!
I remember when there was a contest to do graphics and disco floors with smileys, but this is totally excessive and unneeded
