I remember this square, it was close to the hotel I slept (if I'm not wrong), I've been there at night but it looked quite a nice district, fine houses, no commieblocks around! :)

I always kind of liked Katowice and these photos show that there are also nice areas in Katowice and that altogether it is a quite nice city. In Poland Katowice has a reputation of being a very "gray" city but I dont think its that bad. Friends of mine from Vienna visited Katowice a year ago and they unfortunately had some bad experiences and hated it calling it an "fu**ing ugly concrete shithole" :runaway:

Well, these pictures are nice, but they pretty much show the best that Katowice has to offer. Not very extraordinary areas, either, but decent. Outside of these few streets, it really isn't attractive at all, and I don't know why tourists would visit this city.

Katowice are not for tourists. For them is Cracow :).

The only other comment i have is that it does look a bit gloomy (as mentioned by someone above). Some of those buildings are definately in need of a face lift. This city doesn't compare to troj-miasto or krakow at all, huge difference.

Really great city in my opinion, the architecture the city as a whole seems liveable!

There are some beautiful buildings in those pics! I hope they will renovate them a bit soon :)

Thank you dear cHOPINHOWER but we already have our own capital. Btw, it's Lithuania and Katowice. Katowice could well be a capital of Poland too. With those skyscrapers which were built in Warsaw as the capital it could look better than Warsaw. ;) (atleast I think so when I look at these photos)

In these photos it looks beautiful to me. It means that atleast there are some beautiful places in Katowice. ;)

There are lots of beautiful places in Katowice, but some of them are neglected. Some plaster and paint would have made it look better.

Chorzów :) Chorzów and Katowice are together in one konurbation, it is almost one city. They are soo close to ech other that you dont know in which city are you ... It is called GOP, Katowice together witch neighbour cities have 4 mln citizens thats why we are often consider as the biggest Polish city :)
