Harbor East (www.harboreast.com) is the city's newest upscale neighborhood. While not yet complete, it'll really grow into a city unto itself. It has everything, resturants, pubs, hotels, office space, retail space, a movie house, condos, apartments, a wine store, a sports club, an organic grocery store, museums and direct access to the waterfront. Being developed now is more office and retail space and the movie house and IIRC small hotel.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Albemarle Square is a planned community located just east of Downtown Baltimore and just north of the Little Italy district. Given its proximity to downtown, major interstates, Johns Hopkins' Medical Campus, the inner Harbor and the swanky neighbors of Canton and Fells Point, these homes can really start in the mid-500s. But when choosing a developer, the city went in a different direction. This is a mix-income housing development that when completed will include retail space, apartments, some condos, and townhomes. The homes start in the mid-200s and IIRC, you can rent a 2 bedroom apartment for around $1050 or so.

I didnt walk throught the entire development. I stayed along Pratt Street which one of the boarders to the south.

A few blocks away from the development are these lofts being built using a rehabed warehouse and new construction

Very Nice! I like that the city allowed some leniency on signage so that everything isn't uniform in color and style. It gives it a more urban feel. I also love the sidewalk cafes- adds more street life.

Those are great pictures! What is not really clear (for all those who are unfamiliar with this project) is that this is directly on the Baltimore Harbor. This project is the next thing out from the Inner Harbor and the two of them should connect really well once its entirely finished.

Here's an aerial shot of what it will look like when finished. However where that parking lot is in the lower left hand side is going to be a Four Season's Hotel. The grassy lot in the upper right just north of little italy is where Albemarle Square and those townhomes are being built

Thanks Jayson.

Below is a rendering of the two Four Seasons Hotel (and condo) towers that will be built in that parking lot.

Also theirs another residential tower that will almost be about the height of the Marriot Waterfront. It will be on Aliceanna Street. :) Harbor east will have its own skyline when complete.

Paterakis has bought all the land to Caroline Street. Phase 11 I heard will be all retail and residential to Caroline. The map shown needs to be expanded to Caroline.
