I'm secretly hoping this is only phase 1 of a larger office complex filled with other towers of similar design/style. From my recollection, the land next to Menara Karya on Giliminauk Street are still empty, and they could fit three or four more towers in the complex.

it reflects the state of the economy, which is improving but investors are still cautious. the fact that a foreign (US) design firm was contracted is itself an expression of confidence in the economy , but not full confidence. investors are still partly traumatised by the property crash of 1997...lets hope the economy continues to recover in the next couple of years because this will see a corresponding rise in the size and height of new skyscrapers.

But i have to agree - the apartment has great position - with view to the CBD skyline

I think Matthew Lloyd is selling one of his properties in either within the Melburnian (if i am not mistaken) or somewhere in Southbank for over $2M or so.. that is why you say him there !

yeah I heard about Matthey Lloyd selling his apartment.. I think it's the one at the melburnian.. he lives at the townhouses... and apparently he's moving to the Eureka Apartments.. a lot of the footy players move to the Eureka

Real nice edifice. I think this will go to my list of favs...

btw, the drawing of Menara Kadin in Skyscraperpage is really strange, its too wide. Wonder how it got thru. And whats the real height of menara kadin and Karya??

I agree...the rendering looks a lot better than the real thing..in particular, I notice the glass facade is different, the 'definition' (horizontal lines) is gone..it looks kinda plain..

yeah that horizontal lines looks like it's a shading device as well.. but it's gone.. damn.. that sucks

Be patience man, now they are working on the horizontal lines (and vertical lines as well). No worry, it will be similar with the rendering ...

at night. theres no decorative lightning at all, if ive got money i would put green neon that illuminates on the perimeter of the building so people can see the shape of the building from distance. ahahahah
