Hello forumers,

I just returned from a trip to Panaji, the capital of Goa. Here are some pictures with more on the way. Panaji is probably the cleanest and most organized town in India. Some areas are as posh and par with Singapore. I kid thee not! Take a look

Thanks all for appreciating the pics. Nova, I didn't go anywhere else in Goa other than Panaji. However the stretch from the airport to the town is very pretty. The roads are generally very well-maintained. There are no obvious slums and no glaring poverty like in Mumbai. The airport is as good as Mumbai Terminal 1A. (BTW, massive work onoing at 1B). From the air, Goa looks beautiful. However the flight attendants would not let me take any photographs as they said the rules concerning aerial photography had reverted to the old ones. Does anyone know anything about this ?

That sucks.. I was hoping that it wasn't true but I read a similar account in Atanu Dey's Dishaa weblog.

India’s Picture-perfect Bureaucracy

Plus I read in another incident where cops harrassed an IITian for taking pics of across Powai lake. Apparently photographing the lake is not allowed.
Plus taking snaps of Marine Drive stretch too...????

and here is the photo which cost him Rs 300 as bribe to cops.

:bash:

When can we get rid of these useless laws?

^ Thats pretty disgusting

Since when did powai lake become Dal Lake ?
I dont understand whats the harm in photographing Powai Lake !!
Do they want to stop the terrorists from blowing up the crocodiles in the lake :bash:

So does that make aerial photographs already taken illegal?
