View Full Version : ''Posts'' counter not going up ... Hviid May 3rd, 2005, 11:09 PM Why is the "Posts" counter not going up? Within the last few hours i've written atleast 10 new posts and the counter thing is still staying at 641 ... why?? Hviid May 3rd, 2005, 11:10 PM hmm ... now it seems to be working again ... Jasonhouse May 3rd, 2005, 11:27 PM probably posting in the skybars, which do not count. Pavlo May 4th, 2005, 12:17 AM Post whores :D Azn_chi_boi May 4th, 2005, 12:19 AM the north american skybar counts posts Hviid May 4th, 2005, 02:05 AM probably posting in the skybars, which do not count. i see ... why do they not count? Dr.VitO May 4th, 2005, 02:35 AM mine went from 66 to 65, what's up with that? Dr.VitO May 4th, 2005, 02:36 AM I guess I'll make up for that right now:) Hviid May 4th, 2005, 03:45 AM /\ ive had the same problems before ... Whats going on? is it server problems or something else? DonQui May 4th, 2005, 05:19 AM ^ I believe that sometimes threads that are fairly old get deleted, so I believe that you lose the posts that are in those threads. Thus, your post count decreases. rufi May 4th, 2005, 05:23 AM It's okay :pet: Ellatur May 4th, 2005, 05:52 AM so u people look at your post count each and every time you post your comment? interesting. its not like post counts give you money Malt May 4th, 2005, 06:08 AM lol. I post alot :| Talisker May 4th, 2005, 10:32 AM Post counts should be scrapped IMO. It's not a fair representation of people's contribution to the forum, especialy since it goes down every so often. It may as well read "posts since last clean-out". Isn't there any other system that could be used instead? SUNNI May 4th, 2005, 11:02 AM when i left for about a year, i was at 6000 or something (or was it 5000 ? ) but when i came back it was 1400 its because they dont have any space, and that slows the SSC forum. so they scrap the old threads :) right? Monkey May 4th, 2005, 12:04 PM Right, SUNNI! :) The only problem is that some of the old threads are not necessarily scrap material--far from it! :( Hviid May 5th, 2005, 04:10 AM I havent been here for too long ... only since Jan 2005 .. so my first posts arent really that old, so it cant be that reason ... ? Ellatur> I dont really care about the "posts counter" that much.. but i do find it interesting to see how much people have participated since they've joined SSC .. thats it.. I dont think people with a higher post amount is better than anyone else or anything like that. invincible May 5th, 2005, 03:40 PM When old posts are removed from the forums, your post count is not affected. It's only when every post is recounted and statistics updated when your post count will drop. That's happened several times in the time this forum has been around, I'd be closer to about 2000 posts if there weren't any prunes. |
