I decided to start a thread for this proposed office complex.
BVictor1 May 4th, 2005, 07:44 AM I pulled these images from the Solomon Cordwell Buenz & Associates website.
Madison West 645
Chicago, Illinois
This multi-use complex is being developed by MR Properties and designed by Solomon Cordwell Buenz & Associates. The site is prominently located between Madison and Monroe and Des Plaines and I-94. The current design calls for two office buildings totaling 1.2 - 1.5 million square feet with the ability to build in excess of 2.0 million square feet of office, retail, and hotel space. The site is 86,000 square feet and the visibility and views unparalleled in the city. The building is estimated to be completed in 2007.

Chi_Coruscant May 4th, 2005, 08:07 AM Wow! Finally, the Kennedy Expressway wall is starting to shape. I like the building angle on top pix, especially sharp corner.
Great work, BVictor1! :applause:
geoff_diamond May 4th, 2005, 08:23 AM Beautiful!!! I second Coruscant's remark about the Kennedy corridor... if developments like this and Skybridge keep popping up along the freeway, I will be a very happy camper :)
2PRUROCKS! May 5th, 2005, 08:48 PM I like how glassy and modern they are and the fact they partially block PT from the Kennedy and 290 is a bonus. I think they are a bit too boxy however.
geoff_diamond May 5th, 2005, 11:39 PM boxy = your friend
boxy = good
boxy = yum
The Urban Politician May 6th, 2005, 12:40 AM Bravo!

its not that they are boxy, rather, they are too stout... short and fat. id rather they slimmed them out a bit, and built them slightly taller. however, seeing as they will be used for office space, its unlikely that they will want to shrink the floorplate size.
geoff_diamond May 8th, 2005, 06:23 AM I don't think they're too stout... and I'm usually the first person to sling around that complaint.
24gotham May 10th, 2005, 03:41 AM boxy = your friend
boxy = good
boxy = yum
You can add to that...
glassy = your friend
glassy = good

geoff_diamond May 10th, 2005, 07:08 AM damn skippy dev!
boxy + glassy = perfection

If there is no further news by May 10th, of 2006 we will be able to assume that this project is dead.
geoff_diamond March 21st, 2006, 05:25 PM I think that's jumping the gun a bit. We knew of Waterview for three years before they ever broke ground.
mypetrobot March 22nd, 2006, 08:47 PM i'm sure if this matters much or not but i know they do have the sign for the proposed building on the fence of the parking lot.
wickedestcity March 22nd, 2006, 09:00 PM yeh i saw it there the other day , thats why i thought to bring it up in the forums since i havent herd much about it in a long time
spyguy March 28th, 2006, 04:50 AM I wonder if they have any tenants (this is an office tower I believe)....lots of office space out there already. But I do like these towers as they are some of the first I saw when I joined SSC.
edsg25 March 28th, 2006, 07:40 AM Here's another vote for a Kennedy street wall! Cool!
Chi_Coruscant March 28th, 2006, 02:23 PM I hope this project is moving forward. I like this building: sharp and glassy.

^ A bit sterile for my taste, to tell you the truth.
BorisMolotov January 27th, 2007, 06:00 AM Does anyone know what happened to these?
ardecila January 27th, 2007, 09:04 AM The developers need an anchor tenant before they will bring their proposal to the city for approval. They already own the land, but in Chicago's current office market, there are no major takers to occupy this building.
I'll give it another 9 months before they redesign the site for residential. :lol:
