Ever since getting a microwave, I have been using it alot for my meals.

I eat alot of microwave dinners, and instead of heating leftovers on the stove, I use the microwave!

How often do you use it, and how healthy could it be?

I would say I use it at least once a day if not twice sometimes.

I don't cook hardly ever, my mum cooks most dinners etc and uses a cooker. We do have a microwave but barely use it. I think they could be dangerous but I'd imagine the risk was pretty small.

I mainly eat fresh organic food, which I buy from the local farmers market, also my family own a farm.

Can't you just cook outside on the pavement in Florida? Using a microwave oven where you are seems silly. Send your micro to Siberia. They need it

< use one for baby food actually / doesn't count >

I used to use the microwave a lot but we got new bowls and plates that seem to suck all the heat out the food. The other day I was microwaving some tomato soup and I burnt my hand on the bowl but the soup was ice cold.

I have a microwave but it is rarely used. Decent cooking requires very responsive control of temperature which is impossible with a microwave. The only thing I use it for is reheating leftover casseroles, currys, sauces etc.

I mainly use it for defrosting things such as bread or reheating things like pizza thats going to burn if it goes in the oven for any longer

I find that the defrost setting on the typical microwave is too strong. If you try to defrost a chicken breast or a pack of minced beef the end bit gets cooked to a rubbery consistency while the middle is still frozen. I always put the M-wave on the minimum setting if i'm defrosting and leave it for ten mins between short bursts.

It's easier using it to reheat food. I know people without microwaves because they think it's bad for you!

Microwaves are used alot in my house , my parents eat alot of ready made dinners because they're too stressed to bother cooking, my brothers on the other hand use it for melting jaffa cakes, then getting blisters whilst trying to eat them.

Hmm, i have about 3-4 ready cooked meals a week, usually after long days or the weekend. I never use the microwave for breakfast or lunch - i used to do my scrambled eggs in the microwave, but, although it takes muc hlonger, doing them on the hob is much tastier.

saves time for jacket potatos, and useful for defrosting some things. I think you're really not supposed to microwave chicken to defrost it, it may kill you.

microwaving eggs is funny, paint faces on your egg of choice, stick two in the microwave and race them.. first to burst loses. I have video evidence of Ralph Wiggum beating Mr T in this way!

disclaimer: Not reccomended on your own microwave, but fun in a halls of residence at uni, or at someone elses house when you're at a party.

The largest supermarket in the Netherlands sells fresh meals every day, for only 3 euros. It tastes good, it's healthy and cheap ... but the best thing is it's done within 5 minutes and all I have to clean is a knive and a fork.

So yes... I do eat them, but only a few times a week.

i mostly use it for reheating already cooked foods.
