Those streets in Tel Aviv look quite impressive, Zohar. I particularly like the bridge and multicoloured sculpture/fountain thing. Tel Aviv looks much better than I had thought.

Not necessarily the TOP 3 streets of Glasgow, but certainly my favourite:

San Francisco:

I wasn't aware that LSD was considered a street :)
But yeah, Devon it is then. It's a clear example of the "melting pot." You go through so many different ethnic neighborhoods that you could spend the day in just one or two parts of Devon.

Toronto:

1. Yonge Street (main street; divides the east and west; longest street in the world)

2. Bloor Street (separates downtown from midtown; Toronto's 5th Ave. equivalent)

3. Steeles Avenue (Border between Toronto and the suburbs; separates the north from the south)

NY - tough one...

5th Avenue
then...
Broadway? (around times square and again in Soho)
Madison Avenue?

Actually it's really tough with NY. Outside of 5th Avenue (and then only for shopping) it's hard to choose. Things are pretty spread around

^I think Broadway is New York's top street, not Fifth Avenue. Broadway is the only street that runs the entire length of Manhattan. It also passes through the city's epicenter, Times Square. In addition, Broadway creates a dramatic square/intersection everytime it crosses a north-south avenue, i.e. Union, Madison, Herald, etc......

I would put Fifth Avenue second and 42nd Street third.

Well this old lady clearly isn't watching for cars!!!(see sign top left)
Is it normal for cars to drive on the pavement in Canada, the other pedestrians seem pretty blase about it?!?
And shouldn't the person taking the photograph warn the woman about her impending death!!!
So many questions......

LOL. WTF is up with that? I can tell you that it is NOT normal for cars to drive on the pavement in Canada.. unless that building has underground parking. The sign to the left does say "Coop Cabs, Private Taxi Stand"

Horrible, Horrible choice of pictures.

1. South Michigan Avenue - beautiful old one-sided streetwall, world-class museums, Grant and Millennium Parks, the best Thai restaurant in Chicago.

2. Devon Avenue - Chicago's Desi/Jewish/Russian headquarters.

3. Clark Street - a multi-mile stretch that contains fancy boutiques, which I'm not really a fan of, storefront Mexican and African restaurants, which I am, the best cinnamon rolls in Chicago, which I definitely am, and the home of one of my favorite theater troupes in Chicago, the Neo-Futurists.

Well, the lady is not standing on the sidewalk...she's standing in front of a car dealership, where they routinely park cars on the land between the sidewalk and their building. That is, until that building is turned into yet another Bay St condo. LOL

Toronto's top 3 ? Yonge, Bloor and Eglinton. Those are not my favorite streets, or the nicest or coolest streets.

accualy Clark in my opinion would realy be the next in line running through so many dif. neiborhoods and rigley feild on it etc.

so its
1) N. Michigan Ave. --Mag. Mile
2) S. State St.-- That great street
3) Clark

(mabye wacker drive should replace clark)

1-Market St. Main downtown thoroughfare.
2-Geary St./Blvd. Street downtown, boulevard thru "the avenues" to Ocean Beach.
3-Mission St. Starts downtown and cuts thru several neighborhoods, including the major district of the same name, where most of the city's Hispanics live. It is the longest street and crosses the city limits into the bordering county and where it ends, I have no clue.

Here is Louisville. The order is debateable but here is my choice:

1. Main Street

This street contains the world's second largest concentration of cast-iron buildings (behind Soho in New York). Main Street also has the KY Center for the Arts as well as a nice museum cluster. The renowned Humana building is also located on this street.

2. Fourth Street

This is where you will find the 4th Street Live entertainment complex as well as two "turn-of-the-19th to 20th century" upscale hotels.

3. Bardstown Road

This street is the heart of a fantastic urban hood called the Highlands. It contains a couple of miles worth of stores and restauarants, many of which are independent.

1-Avenida Central/Via Espaņa:This longest thoroughfare in the city stretches from the colonial quarter to the suburbs. It starts as Ave. Central in the Casco Viejo district and becomes Via Espaņa at La Cresta district.

2-Avenida Balboa: This scenic boulevard* hugs the arc of the seawall promenade that seperates Panama Bay from the city.

3-Calle 50 (50th. St.): Is the main street in the banking and finance district of Obarrio.

*Although called "avenue," Balboa is actually a boulevard, as characterized by a landscaped island seperating multilaned opposite directions.

Vancouver:

Broadway
Kingsway
Granville Street (especially in downtown)

although kingsway is just long and big. Maybe Commercial Drive or Georgia Street would be better suited instead of Kingsway in the top 3. Maybe even Hastings street, though for dubious reasons.

Hmmm... If we don't count pedestrian only streets, for Copenhagen it could be:

1. Vesterbrogade

3. Østerbrogade

It was actually pretty hard to find some good street pictures. I gotta shoot some the next time I go there.

BRISBANE AUSTRALIA

#1 - Queen Street - city
This is Australia's most expensive street in terms of rental per square meter and is the main shopping mall in the heart of Brisbane. Rents have been known to go above $Au 14,000 per square meter for some shops!!!

#2 - Brunswick street, one of my favorites. Goes from wicked with peep shows, sex and filth, to night clubs (passes right through Australias largest night club district in Fortitude Valley) to cafes and restaurants and outdoor entertainment to fashion to cake shops to residential and eventually to a tropical park by the river. Has a bit of everything that is Brisbane.

#3 - Eagle Street - downtown. Flanked by the glass, concrete and steel skycrapers of Brisbane's financial district and home to the Australian stock exchange in Brisbane. Its the address to do business on.
