6.5/10 - Not too bad; The white trim nicely sets off the shiny-shiny blue curtain wall, the white strips flowing up the sides give it good height, and the white spandrels provide more contrast.

BUT...while I appreciate the effort to avoid yet another flat roof, I'm not completely sure about that spire or whatever....

i don't like how the spire points downward as well as upward. makes the top look rather awkward...

but otherwise, the building soars pretty well, and the facade color choice is a good one, compared to that bizarre red, tan, and blue colored building next to it.

Sensational. Got to give this one a 10/10. No doubt my favourite Dubai tower, and what a great setting - a near continuous canyon of scrapers along a 10 lane, tree lined highway.

The name is Chelsea, becouse the company who won the contract for tower managment (the tower is Furnished Hotel Apartments), was called Chelsea.

The original name of this tower was Al Salam which means PEACE.

Yes it is exclusive and the facade finish is fantastic, not at all cheap as someone said. I love the small row of lights thay have placed between the sections of the tower. They look amaizing in the night.

looks very unnatural in the environment
i think this whole skyline looks awkward, and since there is nothing else around it, it makes all the buildings look huge, when this is only 250 m and is the highest in the row of buildings.

Seriously, I rate this tower an 8. I like the shape and form, but it seems a tad 'tacky' from some angles IMHO, I can't really describe it but something just doesn't seem right in the facade. Perhaps there is just a bit too much white.

Man, I love Dubai!

I didn't like it at first. However after looking at it for awhile, it grew on me. I guess there is a purpose to posting a bunch of pictures in one thread. :)

It's a little tacky and akward but that's part of it's charm, plus I like how the spire is suspended against the sides of the top like that. I also like the slenderness. 7/10

From certain angles when you don't see the top it doesn't look too bad. However, when you see the whole building including the top it looks pretty awful. The top is tacky and embarrassing. If you took that silver bullet and placed it on the corner where the blue glass culminates at the top and removed the weird white clasps holding it then it would at least flow. It might also look better if it were on the water somewhere and not on some contrived mega-road. As it stands now I'd give it a 5.5

Reminds me of the art deco buildings of Miami, very colorful.
Don't like it though. Too busy, too much color. Maybe it is futuristic. Hope not.
I won't rate it though and give it low points.

I love this building, I think the rich blue and stark white of the facade look so good together, and the spire is original and eye-catching. Good height too.

That is a sharp looking tower.

Upon first glance, the "measuring tape"-like lines running up the facade seemed like a tacky after-thought, but upon further viewing I feel that they add a truly distinct element to the tower, and are most necessary to the design, yet still tacky in my mind. As with other towers in Dubai, I cannot get past the hulking, over-bearing frame of this building that distracts from the pleasing subtleties of the design. The color scheme is excellent; very fitting for the city and the surrounding architecture. The top of the building is ruined though, again a result of that clumsy, bulky frame that extends too far beyond the roof, ruining the proportions and generating too much visual mass. That goofy little spire helps ease the pain of that ungainly top, but this cannot hide the fact that it too seems a little contrived and to me is a spoiled cherry on top of an over-wrought sundae.

6.5/10 for having nice colors and integrating well with its surroundings as well as having some distinctness.

I guess it's not really my style (I really like classic setbacks and spires). The spire on this I think looks good at some angles and bad at others. Also this building just seems a little bit too tall and goofy.
