Ryazan' is a city situated in 200 kilometers to south-east of Moscow.
Current population is 521 thousands.

These old digitally remastered colour photographs are amazing!
It looks like the program has turned the black silhouettes of people into colour spots though :) This is not to let them down - simply interesting.

Gatis this are not digitally remasered photografs. This are made before 1918
by Prokudin-Gorskiy . He pionered colour photografy in prerevolutinary Russia. Working for Nicolas II he travlleed oll over empire documenting
evrydays life in colour. Some of his best pictures ended up in National Congress Library in Washington. It's just amazing that above pics made around 1913-1914.

To be fair about Gatis remark. Original photographs where made in tree versions (using red, blue, green filters ) and then presented in color slide
show using a light-projection system involving the same three filters.
So in order for us to see it as a pics digital process was used also it helped to restore damaged pics.

Grr why is not distributed by cities.. I want to find Kyiv if there are any pics of it.

Wow, that website is amazing!
I never imagines I would ever see pics dating to the Imperial era.
