Vancouver_rocks May 14th, 2005, 08:32 PM Here's a funny video for the BC election. Even if you don't agree with it you will find it entertaining. Vote Liberal!!!

Enjoy
crazyjoeda May 14th, 2005, 10:15 PM Its so true. Only an idiot would vote for them.
jer4893 May 14th, 2005, 11:01 PM Some people say that the Liberals have done such a bad job with cuts everywhere but it was necessary to clean up the mess that the NDP made, and it worked. Maybe now if the Lib's get in power again, BC will grow even more. I hope the Liberals win by a very small margin, just to make them smarten up and listen mroe to the people and stop ruining our hospitals and schools.
Rhino May 15th, 2005, 12:01 AM This is the greatest thing Ive ever seen Thank you to who ever made it !
Vancouver_rocks May 15th, 2005, 12:23 AM Yes thanks to who ever made it. It's brilliant and it's so true!
Remember to vote NO for STV on Tuesday, nothing would ever get done in Victoria with STV just like in Ottawa. Too many parties!
mr.x May 15th, 2005, 04:22 AM LMAO!
worldwide May 15th, 2005, 05:15 AM what a stupid movie. whoever believes what this video says must not realize how incredibly biased it is. you could easilly create any video just as biased as that and you could get fools to believe what it says. i believe the ndp would do a better job, even if there are less skyscrapers built, because they would invest in social programs, education, and healthcare, thats what those taxes pay for. ever wonder how the liberals can afford to cut the taxes?
Vancouver_rocks May 15th, 2005, 06:44 AM Actually the NDP would piss off money like they normally do and tax the big corporations like they normally do to pay for that. People would leave the province again just like they did in the 90's. The 90's were some of the worst times the province has ever had and we don't want to go back to it. You are living in denial because that video is entirely true. The NDP screwed up big and the Liberals came and fixed things, end of story.

You are wrong.
The Liberals are spending more on healthcare and education than the NDP did. The NDP have nothing in their platform about opening hospitals.
The Liberals can make the tax cuts because business is moving to BC. It has become less necessary to tax through intensity but rather through quantity of sources.
So you can understand:
More businesses x lower taxes = Lots of money/lots of jobs
Less businesses x higher taxes = Lots of money/lots of money (although it goes down quickly)/not many jobs
When there aren't as many jobs, you have to fund more social stuff (welfare).
worldwide May 15th, 2005, 10:37 PM it makes sense in theory, but who can trust the liberals to use the extra money wisely? IMO i dont think so.
"The NDP have nothing in their platform about opening hospitals."
i know that they wouldnt be closing any of the ones that already exist
i wasnt trying to start a heated political discussion i just thought that that video was absolutely ridiculous and it should never have been made
worldwide May 15th, 2005, 10:38 PM that made no sense, replace "who can" with "can you" in the first line
touraccuracy May 17th, 2005, 01:03 AM This movie is actually fairly accurate.
Under the NDP, people were fleeing to Alberta for higher quality of life and unions were getting piles of money from taxpayers.
Under the Liberals, average income is up and taxes are down.
Carole James has idealistic (fairytale) plans that don't work and so did Glen Clark.
Bias, of course, but accurate too.

Who can trust the Liberals? The better question is who can trust the NDP? They were the most corrupt party in BC history. I find it disgusting that the NDP are going on about broken promises. The Liberals have kept more than 90% of their promises, the NDP kept FAR less than that in the 1990s. Many of the same people are still in the party. Adrian Dix (wrote the back dated Casinogate memo), Corky Evans ("We made announcements about things we weren't even going to do."), and several other former cabinet members and MLAs. A former NDP leader (Harcourt) had to resign as Premier because his party stole $2 million from charities! Then there is Glen Clark (currently supporting Carole James) and the whole Casinogate scandal.
Cuts had to be made to fix a decade of NDP blunders. Another few years of this great economy and we will be able to afford many new things (hospitals, schools, etc...). Do you want to stop that by electing the NDP?
yesheh May 17th, 2005, 04:56 AM Anyone count student votes today?

Right on. :)
worldwide May 17th, 2005, 08:21 AM well back in ontario im used to the right wing governments getting in to office and ruining everything, so dont blame me for being skeptical of the liberals, but as the saying goes, "it doesnt matter who you vote for, the government always gets in"
Tri-City Guy May 17th, 2005, 01:27 PM Thats classic. Hell I'm going into teaching and even I wouldn't vote NDP. It will be awhile before that party is forgiven in BC.
touraccuracy May 18th, 2005, 01:22 AM ^ Hopefully. I can't believe this one is as close as it is in the opinion polls. Probably the only people answering the phone survays in the middle of the day are the unemployed that don't want to work and just want to collect their welfare.

Well, I don't think Mike Harris ruined everything, though his policies did create unecessary problems in Ontario. His cuts were far deeper than any of Gordon Campbell's cuts, so I wouldn't really consider the Liberal's cuts as anything shocking to the province.
worldwide May 18th, 2005, 08:31 AM well, it looks like the liberals won, but i wasnt even eligible to wote because i just moved here, so i cant complain.

There's no doubt that they have won. It's a majority governemtn when they have at least 40 seats. The question is now, can they do any better than 47 seats verses the NDP's 32?
