La Cigale is being built on Hamad bin Suhaim road (formerly embassies road). it's near al-sadd roundabout, on ur right, if u'r coming from Ramada traffic lights junction.

Too bad i don't have a photo of the project, but it's really beautiful.

The building is coming up pretty good.

Yes, Al Sadd is still crappy--maybe except for Royal Plaza which opened last year (?) or the year before.

Yeah Royal Plaza ain't bad at all, but I hate some of their fake shops like the Gap is totally crappy and they only have XXXL

^^ But they have Gas and Guess which I like very much. I used to buy from GAP when I was bigger!

^^ Just for your information, the grey part looks unpainted, but its actually grey marble; so the exterior is almost done! Just the top quarter-circle and the top concrete section are left.

Looking at Halawala's second pics in post #16... Have you noticed that worker 'smiling' at the camera! :D The third one from the left.
This happens to me alot. Everytime I take a pic of something where there are workers around they start waving to me and 'pose' for the picture! :D

The wierd part is that I was driving and not stopping to take the photos!

The deadline for opening this hotel is Nov. 15 in less than 2 weeks from today! But,the latest pics from what I saw appeared that they gotta do a hell lot of work in order to open it on time!! What do you think?

The main entrance is not finished at all.. the road spot in front of the hotel is looking ZERO!! which means, no finger was moved to fix it.
I dont understand why it takes them so long to finish!

Some one pass by tommorow during night to see if there are any lights open in the lobby. Last time I was in Doha, the exterior glass panels were not fully put in place.

Great! I can't wait to see! Its a shame the outside of the building has been done but the interior is still not! But, the reason I predict the delay is that the management team and hotel franchise is Lebanese and it might have been affected by the Israeli aggregtion to Lebanon.Maybe--just a wild guess!

You can only see how massive this hotel is from the back view! The lobby doesnt look very impressive. At first I thought that the whole glass celing will be integrated as teh lobby, but then i realized that the lobby is very small.

Dont know what to think about this one. I am sure if it was build in a city in europe it would have been ok, but in Doha I just dont think it fits that well with the rest of the city.

i read in Qatar happening that they late September, the hotel must be fully opened. it contains alot of nice 5 stars restaurants and a piano bar

The Ramadan Tent in La Cigale Hotel is open and supposidely its one of the best tents around town. Ill go there to night and see for myself. :D

I just came from the tent. The service is wonderful; the waiters, ladies, guys, there were excellent and friendly. The price was excessively high, though! But, at least there is band that sang old songs. I requested the Song "Lessa Faker" for Om Kolthom and they sang it. I would definetly recomment it.

So far, only the Ramadan Tent is open. But in a month or two, the rooms and restaurant will open as well. The hotel is still closed, althought the tent is open for Ramadan. Such a nice idea to partially open the hotel. However, it certainly does not look like a construction site. Anybody entering the hotel would never know it is still closed. However, they really spent money and it certianly is the best hotel in Doha, with the best of Lebanese hopitality.

i was there last night to......hhahaha...........i went the first day of ramadan as they told me it was a private night so i went yesterday with a couple of my friends.........its wonderful.......the tent is at the swimming pool area and actually on it in a way.......the band is amazing, the food is perfect...and hell yeah the service is wonderful.......so nice and friendly and by the way...

They dont accept reservations by phone, its first come first serve. I didnt like the food as much as the atmosphere, but it was OK. The service was outstanding though... You should give it a try!

everything is running at the hotel....the Spa, Launge, Bar, Resturant, and rooms..........

i really like madison......the Piano lounge.....
