I love Fukukoa. Somebody should post some pics of the Canal City development by the Jerde Partnership. Stunning stuff. The skyline's lovely, I think. The Fukukoa Tower serves as a perfect focal point and landmark. As far as Japanese cities go, I think this is one of the best.

I'd say around 7.5... It clearly looks like any other Japanese city, but looking closer at the street level, you seen an immense, uncrowded, clean walkable city unlike other Japanese cities such as Tokyo and Osaka.

7/10.very tipycal japanese citiy scape..thought,i pity on fukuoka, bcz there is very very strick height limit more than other cities in japan..esp in down towns area as airport is very near.they got above 100m scrapers at only bay side.and not so tall too.anyway japanese citis were not use to build scrapers when there were boom in construction in japan bcz during those time technology 4 earthquake proof scraper were not so ready..so i consider this as japanese citys charm.like tokyo, they got this kind of 10floor like buildings all over tokyo even seems endless.but it kills a view..but anyway i like that kind of tokyo like chaos so i change my mind,i will give 8 for this!

Fukuoka gets an 8.5 from me. Its one of my favorite Japanese cities. The skyline may not be that tall but it is dense, and the atmosphere of the city when youre there is really nice. Its a big city but it doesn't drown you (like the feeling I get when Im in Osaka). And the food is a bonus (but that doesnt earn points for skyline does it? hehe). Very liveable place.
