Arpels May 17th, 2005, 08:38 PM the city is so beautiful, I love the bridge!!
Sarajka May 17th, 2005, 08:50 PM ^ I see you're from Lisboa, Arpels. ;) You can thank your government, in part, for that bridge. :)
Arpels May 17th, 2005, 08:52 PM yes? they help in the rebuilt of the bridge? :) cool this city deservs :okay:
Indexi May 17th, 2005, 08:55 PM Fucking beautiful, I am so proud;)
Sarajka May 17th, 2005, 08:56 PM ^ Yes, the government of Portugal helped significantly. There are some weak ties between Mostar and Lisboa. Most of Mostar's Sefaradi Jews did not come from Spain, as they did in Sarajevo, Skopje, and other Balkans cities - but from Portugal. The old Jewish homes, businesses, and even other buildings designed by local Jewish builders have many Portuguese influences. I don't know what they are :D just that they're there. ;)
BosRoker May 17th, 2005, 09:00 PM I'm happiest about the mosque still being colorful... in Sarajevo so many of the mosques that the Saudis financed the reconstruction of were painted completely white, but that mosque has retained our traditional look.
And it's also great that the Old Town seems completely rennovated. I can only imagine how Sarajevo would look like if the whole old town and surrounding area were in the same condition as Mostar's.

Damn Saudis, we should seriously remove their mosques( not to be rude but it's BOSNA not fucking arabia) and replace them with traditional mosques.

labi May 17th, 2005, 09:03 PM very nice. mostar is beautiful, i love the roofs, shiny grayish-white roofs. great colors to match the barren landscape aound it.
Sarajka May 17th, 2005, 09:08 PM The stage at Mostar, constructed to provide seating room for the tens of thousands that attended the bridge's re-opening, is still used for concerts and cultural events in the city.
Schools, cultural groups, dance troupes, and ANY visiting artists are allowed to use the facility COMPLETELY free of charge:

Urban Girl May 17th, 2005, 09:12 PM betiful, a real magic!! maybe many people dont like this term here, but its so Ottoman/Turkish and very Balkanic also.
Sarajka May 17th, 2005, 09:15 PM ^ No, it's *very* Ottoman, Urban. And proudly so. :)

Sarajka May 18th, 2005, 12:05 AM ^ You know Bosnians and pigeons. ;)
There's a whole tourism industry around the Travnik long-tail.
But London, Paris, Mostar, Travnik...looks like the same f--king bird to me. :D
CVRKI May 18th, 2005, 12:31 AM ^ You know Bosnians and pigeons. ;)
 Yup, I remember how I was impressed as a kid by the huge number of older people giving food to them in Sarajevo. Pigeons were fat as pigs at that time.

:nono: naughty girl, you can call me all the names you want but don't say a word against pigeons. These flying gypsies are sacred to me.
yugoboy May 18th, 2005, 12:34 AM CVRKI, you want Pigeons???...Welcome to Sarajevo Buddy! :D

I suppose I shouldn't tell you that I accidently killed one with my car once. :)
CVRKI May 18th, 2005, 01:01 AM @yugoboy : this is the very Sarajevo I keep in my memory, thanks brale :)
I suppose I shouldn't tell you that I accidently killed one with my car once. :)
No, you shouldn't, definitely. :gunz:
Same thing happened to my fiancee and I think that this day she'd better told me that she slept with my best friend. :gunz:
And yes, I'm a real psycho when it comes to bad treatment of all animals , especially cats and pigeons. :gunz:
Anyway, since it was accidental the (very bad) christian in me must forgive. ;)
Sarajka May 18th, 2005, 01:05 AM ^ Hahaha. :) Well, thank you. I did feel bad, despite what the papers in the RS said.
"BOSNIAK TERRORIST EXECUTES SERBIAN PIGEON IN BROAD DAYLIGHT
Crowds in Sarajevo cheer the carnage!"
The Bosniak papers were much nicer.
"KILLER SERBIAN PIGEON ATTACKS BOSNIAK DRIVER
Womens right to drive questioned in FBiH parliament!"
CVRKI May 18th, 2005, 01:19 AM ^ Hahaha. :) Well, thank you. I did feel bad, despite what the papers in the RS said.

Oh I think i read that in the papers once :D .. hehe but what’s sad is that they actually can sink that low!! even on the opening of the Stari Most over the Summer while the BIH TV was celebrating.. the RS one was Reporting about how Croat Mostarians and Muslims Mostarians don't get along! :)

Haha :D
lindenthaler May 18th, 2005, 09:21 PM I hate pigeons :D j/k, but sometimes it s shitty because of their shit hyperproduction, maybe it s ordinary for west europe because of weed concentration.
Anyway, really great pictures, i like that with small sea and house to it :)
MIMICA May 19th, 2005, 02:45 AM I have some mixed feelings for pigeons. :D When I was younger, and still "understanding" pigeons, I had a HUGE mistake. I walk over to my dad, and give him the "puppy-dog" pout, and he gives me some money. I give it to the man so I can get some corn, and he does.
I'm thinking, "This is going to be awsome". I kneel down and throw ONE peice of corn, and about 5 of them fight for it. I don't know why, but I sneezed, and ALL my corn feel out of that little plastic cup, and onto the ground.
There I was, 8 years old, and a perfect circle of corn around me. I thought this wasn't that big of a deal, but HOW I was wrong. :D
I get up to brush myself off, and look up. There are about 200 pigeons coming at me, full speed, and HUNGRY. I honestly get knocked over, and cover my face. About 15 seconds later, after screaming for my father, and crying, they finish all the corn and I get up. There I am, tears down my cheeks, stinging my face since it's really cold, big pain on my head where I hit the ground, my new jacket has a tear in it, along with my pants, and some bird crap on my glove. This was NOT a good day.
There you have it, the day that MIMICA (the brave ;) ) got the stuffing beat out of him my some hungry pigeons.
Sarajka May 19th, 2005, 02:48 AM ^ Ahahaha...I love that!
I can beat it though. ;)
When Zorjana was younger (1995-1996), we took her to visit a house that had a big garden, at the edge of Sarajevo. She was just old enough to walk and talk, and she went over to this pile of bushes near a butterfly, and when she came close, it lifted off the branch and landed on her arm. And the second it touched she said:
OOOOWWWW!!!!!
And shook it off. :D LOL
She's going to be as brave as you Mimica. :D Good to know the next generation of Bosniaks is so capable of defending the motherland. :D
