Consider yourself lucky, really it is the most awful place I have ever had the misfortune to spend time in.

The only good thing to see in Blackpool is the Exit.

Blackpools good but only if you catch it on a nice warm sunny day, theres lots of things to do, but if its raining and windy it really is quite a miserable place

It's excellent. Imagine the worst weather possible and thousands of people who enjoy it. Cheered me up. Puts things in the right perspective! People go there, determined to have a good time, and not even the heaviest storm is going to put them off. You'd have to admire that.

went one January and it was the most depressing day of my life, the population drastically drops in the winter so it seemed like a ghost town. Imagine the vulgarity of Las Vegas but with none of the self-confidence, none of the money and none of the 'wow' factor all mixed together with lashings of rain and grey skies :(

It looks very American in that picture. You have some sort of Pepsi tower, and a couple McDonalds golden arches in the background. lol

Blackpool...Europes Las Vegas

If somebody went to Blackpool because they read that and thought it would be like Las Vegas but in Europe they would be EXTREMELY disappointed!

It's ok for a day trip on a sunny day if you live within twenty miles or so but if I lived further away (as I do) I really wouldn't bother. I can think of hundreds of places in the UK i'd rather go.

blackpools no las vegas, it's blackpool, it's unique. It's a symbol of the victorian bank holiday and weekend. 'Fun land'...you wouldn't get that anywhere else in the world.

Blackpool like nearly all british coastal towns has suffered since the decline of british tourism about 30 years ago. At the moment it's a very tacky ugly place, although its starting to re invent itself now and turn itself around, I think it's been granted the only definate gambling lisence in the whole country and will be opening up a massive super casino soon. It's certainly not Europes Las Vegas, Europe's Atlantic City would be a more accurate description.
