Tourism is one of the great hopes of Vietnam. In the next decade, it is expected to be one of the most rapidly growing tourist destinations worldwide. One of its chief advantages is good beaches. The more famous ones are near Nha Trang, but the closest really good one from Saigon is Mui Ne, just past Phan Tiet. It takes just over three hours by car. Here I present some photos from a recent weekend trip.
We stayed in a resort on the main strip, I forget the name, but they are all the same... the cottages run about $30-$50 per night.

The scene was more hip at some of the neighboring places:

Then we drove to Mui Ne City, a couple of km down this road:

Behind the narrow strip of land along the beach, there rise sand dunes:

Anyway, in a few minutes we arrive in the city:

Beyond this, there is now a new road:

Then there are some big new resorts:

But we decide to go back to the original resort strip, and eat at this Italian place called Autumno del Luna, or something:

It's already evening when we return to our place.
