I love how CA leads in the top 3 most expensive metro areas to live: SF bay area, Orange County, and San Diego ;)

Just wait until the real estate bubble over there bursts...For selfish reasons I know I'm looking forward to it ;) ;)

Anything above an 8-12% yearly appreciation increase to me means "overvalue". I recently read an article that said almost half of the new loan mortagages in California are interest only loans (with adjustable rates). I really hope interest rates do jump up becuase if they do.....and the price of homes started coming down many people will be screwed.

I think it's a bubble... With the economy in general shrinking and the unemployment rates still going up, it's ridiculous that the housing market is still boiling hotter and hotter... the population isn't growing any particularly bigger either... eventually there's gonna be no support for the price range and the market should plummet... it's inevitable.

I agree, I can't wait until home prices going down, probably in about 10-20 years later.

People are still moving in LA.

Most people who born from other state in mid-80's and 90's so they cannot relocating to LA until 20-21 years old or up. If they are younger and live in east coast or interior east so its not easier to relocating to LA until 20-21 or up. I have one friend from Nashville so he want relocating after graduation at high school. He has no idea about planning to move out. I have no experience about move out too.

Saiholmes, you are cool too. :D

LA cannot be become 1st most expensive on nation like after London or Tokyo or if happened then people will on protest, increase more homeless and poverty and migrating to other city. Job in US is hecking not enough to makes appealing with cost of living.

Job in Tokyo and London is pretty much of $$$$$ to affordable higher cost of living.

VansTripp

Its Bush's fault about cost of living goes higher and higher (mostly on gas price and house price). What's dumb job with him so Southerner thought that he's cool and makes red state rocks. I'm not happy with him though.

If he don't well with his job so I will relocating to Australia (Sydney), New Zealand (Auckland) or coastal of Mexico (Acapulco).

true, i agree with all that you are saying, but more and more people moving in won't help the current situation, if anything it'll make it worse

Want go back to 1990 again? It's will little better cuz cheaper real estate price and gas price (90 cent to 1.20 per gallon)? I don't care if murders in LA reached over 1,000 per years and gangs is pretty worst in early 1990's too.

Real Estate price in Southern California is pretty almost same as Southern state in 1980's and 1990's.

trust me, i agree with all that you are saying. The only thing i am stating is that more people coming into southern california would not benefit us at all. more people would mean higher home prices which is not good because the bubble will just keep getting bigger and bigger. More people coming in will worsen the home price situation in my opinion.

In 70's and 80's, LA has higher home prices than Orange Co, San Diego Co, Ventura Co and Inland Empire. All of part execpt for Inland Empire was suprassed.

Medium-sized homes with 3 bedroom/2 bathroom in Van Nuys was cost about $250,000 in 80's and compared to make $2-3 per hrs from low wage job. All homes price in Southern California goes down in 1990's and goes higher again this decade. Seattle, Boston, DC and San Francisco is more expensive home prices than LA with less than 5 million population.

Los Angeles County 4,061 square miles
San Francisco County 47 square miles

You can't compare with these things.
