Masterplan to be agreed by autumn.
Start on site - late 05/early 06
:cheer:
Steve-e-b August 5th, 2005, 10:24 AM Whoever though of putting the entire libary so far out of Birmingham is mad. Its far more convinient for famlies to travel into birmingham and walk to baskerville house than millenium point.
This person just doesn't know what he's talking about. I suspect he still thinks that the elevated ring-road still exists at Masshouse and doesn't realise how accessible that part of town is now.
From my perspective, Millennium Point is easier to get to than Baskerville house. The bus I catch into town stops on Priory Queensway, 0.3 miles from Millennium Point. The nearest stop to Baskerville house is on Corporation Street, a 0.5 mile walk away. How is that closer and more convenient?
This only goes to show what an uphill battle we have with Eastside. People just don't see it as being close to the city centre, let alone part of it.

Spread August 6th, 2005, 10:52 PM Those of you hopeing to see a skyscraper at Queens Gate adjacent to Mailbox are likely to be disapointed by the planning application in the following report. Whilst undoubably an improvement on what is there at the moment the chnace of a comprehensive redevelopment has it appears gone away:

jolon August 6th, 2005, 11:12 PM Sounds good. Further improvement to that area of the city. Good to see that building getting a make over.
I don't remember anyone expecting a tall building on that site, i had no idea that it was going to be developed at all until now.
Smileyface August 6th, 2005, 11:27 PM Top marks to Martin G for these to renderings,,,,if only (his own words)
