caw123 October 2nd, 2005, 11:21 AM heres unity if it was just a rectangle block all the way to 100m, unity's supposed height
Nah it'll never be as high as 100m. 85m max I'd say.
Thanks for the updates everyone.

I think we're lucky that it's that tall, given it's proximity to the Royal Liver Building.
liverpolitan October 2nd, 2005, 05:47 PM The more I see of it, the more I am wonder if I will like it. Was never sure about it, but weird gimmicky cladding is worrying.
woody October 2nd, 2005, 06:46 PM Thats s***e, i am very dissapointed
Rather an harsh judgement westy, :eek2: what was there before Unity was s***e. Please expand on your disapointment !!!!
Martin S October 2nd, 2005, 08:39 PM To help Westy along, here is Richmond House which was on the site since the late 60s:

I don't know about the cladding on Unity. It is still far from complete and it is hard to tell what the finished product will look like. It seems to me that the designers are aiming for the seamless 'taut' cladding design which can look really good on a tall building and be very different from the Beetham 1 cladding system with its raised joints.
I took that photo above of Unity behind St Nicks as I wanted to get some idea of how it will affect the church's setting. That could become one of the most controversial features of Unity as there are at least another five mikes to go on the office tower and seven on the residential tower.
westisbest October 2nd, 2005, 10:20 PM hmmmmm i do appologise on my comments but i was expecting more, as for the previous building, thats awful

Your disgracful out burst is forgiven, well it is Sunday :)
You will get more, a fabulous cluster will soon appear to join Unity, even the old JM Centre has had revamp so it can hold its own with all the new build popping up around it. Just wait and marvel when you see my Porta-cabin penthouse appear on the top of Unity :) you will be speechless!!!!!!!!!!

"Ready to roll `Ouston" said the Scouse Space Person.....
"H" said Elenor "and bring me back a bag of chips."
westisbest October 3rd, 2005, 09:43 PM if that second picture was taken when unity was complete would the top be visible or will it be taller
TheMerseyOrange October 6th, 2005, 09:13 PM Unity's top section seen from Monk's Ferry through this evening's deepening gloom. Does the top floor look to be set back a little?

Great shooting , as usual cheers
westisbest October 18th, 2005, 07:55 AM is the portacabin going to have 2 floors to it?
tommygunn October 18th, 2005, 05:24 PM Is that as high as it will get?such a shame its not taller
Look on the brightside it replaced a pile of crap low rise office building.
Paul D October 18th, 2005, 05:28 PM They'd never let it be any taller due to it being so close to the three graces so your lucky it is that high.
