please dont move this to skybar...this is not a "girls thread" let's talk about the dresses and the fashion, you dont see this in other cities.
pottebaum May 31st, 2005, 12:28 AM In doesn't seem all that different from any major city I've been to.
The Boy David May 31st, 2005, 02:31 AM In doesn't seem all that different from any major city I've been to.
To be fair, as much as Tokyo is an awesome place, every city in the world has beautiful women. (some of those girls in the pictures are hot, mind)
Many say that my city, Glasgow, has the best fashion sense in the world, I believe the quote I read once was "Effortlessly fashionable".
But as I said, every city has their lookers :)
Sen May 31st, 2005, 03:46 AM oh please....this is thread is not about BEAUTIFUL WOMEN (or is it:)?)
i think most places you go, there are lookers and there are people who know how to dress, but most people wear rather boring clothes..you have to really look to find fashionable women.
DoubleR May 31st, 2005, 09:11 AM IMO Japanese girls are not the most beautiful, but they sure know how to dress.....
So do you think the Chinese girls are that beautiful or know how to dress?
M.Poirot May 31st, 2005, 10:04 AM So do you think the Chinese girls are that beautiful or know how to dress?
No need to get worked up, it's just his opinion. :) I'm sure you have girls that you think are beautiful and some that aren't.
BTW-Some of those girls are looking GOOD. :D
ILoveChina May 31st, 2005, 11:01 AM very fashion

apparently, those photos are not in Tokyo. Precisely, all the summer shots are in Tokyo, in Shinjuku area only, but all these winter shots are not in Tokyo but in Fukuoka City.

M.Poirot June 1st, 2005, 03:05 AM IMO she looks more like Ayumi Hamasaki.
I don't know... I thought Hamasaki had brownish hair last time I checked? Oh yeah, and her eyes are more  , if you know what I mean. ;)
BTW, I see you changed your avatar to the girl from Battle Royale. Great Movie! :)

Ayu is I think got herself done the plastic surgery. There are also some rumors that she's a Zainichi Korean.
coldstar June 1st, 2005, 04:05 PM Ayu is I think got herself done the plastic surgery. There are also some rumors that she's a Zainichi Korean.
Where did you hear the rumor? Korea's Naver? (,where determines every Japanese star is Zainichi)
As for Ayu, she is never Zainichi.
Dennis June 1st, 2005, 04:41 PM great thread :applause:
fairladyZ June 1st, 2005, 06:40 PM As a japanese myself, I don't think there are anything special in the pictures.
Just what you see every day. :)
M.Poirot June 2nd, 2005, 05:22 AM Ayu is I think got herself done the plastic surgery. There are also some rumors that she's a Zainichi Korean.
Of course she's gotten plastic surgury, look at the size of her EYES!
But I don't think she's Korean.
Sen June 2nd, 2005, 06:21 AM IMO, 浜崎あゆみの目はあまり大きくないです。
I dont think her eyes are so big!

Alex Pox June 2nd, 2005, 10:20 AM I always love Japanese street fasion...They may not be the best-looking, but they really know how to make them look much much better^^*(To DoubleR: I'm not saying the Chinese or whatever are the best.)
I wonder when mainland Chinese cities can match them when it comes to street fashion.....Seoul is already another capital of fashion in Aisa I think. And don't forget about Hong Kong.
pwright1 June 2nd, 2005, 11:23 AM Great pics. Very stylish japanese woman imo.
Donkie June 2nd, 2005, 11:46 AM Ayu is I think got herself done the plastic surgery. There are also some rumors that she's a Zainichi Korean.

DoubleR June 3rd, 2005, 12:24 AM IMO, 浜崎あゆみの目はあまり大きくないです。
I dont think her eyes are so big!
Well as I said she's obviosly done the plastic surgery. Can't you tell it easily even from the picture you posted? Her eyes were even smaller and single eye lid before the surgery. And when people "naturally" have double eye lids, they won't shape like Hamazaki's. Her eyes look the way too unnatural. She's got good talent being a pop singer but otherwise isn't good looking or anything at all in my opinion.
DoubleR June 3rd, 2005, 01:04 AM The surname "Hamazaki":
浜崎 = Possibility of Zainichi
濱崎 = Traditionally Japanese
The Zainichi Koreans became a foreign national in 1952. Before then the Koreans were regarded as the Japanese since they had the Japanese nationality due to Japan-Korea unification policy.
waterloo June 3rd, 2005, 01:22 AM I think Hamasaki is very over-rated.
kyenan June 3rd, 2005, 01:34 AM The girls in the pix are not particularly fanshionable, but normal. Sen, what made you think that they were particularly fashionable? You can see girls dressed like that not only in major cities, but also in any city whether it's big or small.
Sen June 3rd, 2005, 01:46 AM indeed it's not hard to find well-dressed people in every major city, but it's a phenomenon when you see people dressed like this EVERYWHERE. I can make conclusions that people in Tokyo are more fashionable than HK and NYC, another two great cities i have been to. But then i always went to NYC in winter...
it's a pity that i have never set foot on European continent, so i dont know how Tokyo compares to cities such as Paris or Milano. They have very well-known fashion shows, but street fashion is a different story.
Can you show us some Seoul Street level pictures? it's street fashion is great too i think.
however i think those suits on Japanese men are very boring and ugly, maybe they have to wear them. You see the contrast in many pictures i posted.
tommygunn June 3rd, 2005, 01:47 AM japanese girls are fine shame its so far away.
tommygunn June 3rd, 2005, 01:53 AM the japanese people know how to look stylish thats for sure.

DoubleR June 3rd, 2005, 03:23 AM 1. Raw physical appearance (DNA).
2. Sense (brain to think).
3. Fashion (knowing how to wear thus choosing what to wear).
1+2=3. So only wearing brand goods or taking plastic surgery never makes yourself looking good.

From Wikipedia: 浜崎 あゆみ 福岡県福岡市出身。
The first thing comes to my mind when imagine Fukuoka is a sheer number of both Zainichi and non-Zainichi Koreans living in that city. Height 157cm is like 14 years old girl's height. It's far from the model standard. Let alone if physically fit or not.
Sen June 3rd, 2005, 08:14 AM LOL
pepsi, why are you so obsessed with race?
so there are 1% non-Japanese living in Japan..big deal..

BTW, smoking while walking on a street is strictly prohibited in most of the big cities in Japan by municipal law, so kind of a surprise for me to see this guy running a risk of being punished by a fine.

agree. too plain sight for the Japanese.
these Tokyo pics were taken only in Shinjuku, but Tokyoites who lead the fashion won't gather in Shinjuku !!
Shibuya, Ginza, Roppongi... those are the cutting edge trendy zones in Tokyo fashion.
