They probably live better lives than what they do in their own countries, depending on their status. Plus, many go there to enroll in universities, and they eventually settle there. A lot of them are also apparently being taken in as refugees.
I know some people who studied in Russia, Hungary, and the Czech Republic.

Arab Nations Apart from the GCC are not wealthier than Eastern Europe.....

I think most Arab nations are in good shape. Its just that Western countries have always tried to show their own people that arabs are backward and crazy people. The sad part is that these so called western nations have advanced because the borrowed all arab achievements from the past. It is very sad ( not being arab) for me to see arabs put each other down. Anyhow.....I hope I didnt offend anyone..just an observation.

Well Past is Past and what matters is the present (and the future!).
And the present is that forget West, but a tiny little Israel manages to shrug and kill palestinean while Arabs tremble in fear!!!
As for the future, it is not looking too rosy for the whole Arab world even if you put the GCC countries in the mix since a region that has no survivability or defense of its own is really "screwed" in this time of the world!

What the hell are you talking about? Not everything is about wars and defense. Maybe in the military sense, some arab countries are weak but are you judging every country based on military might? You might win a military battle, but you do not win it in the long run. Thats the lesson every country has learned in the middle east. You never win wars....you just think you do. The major problem is not Israel; the problem is that the world ( western) will not allow any arab nation to have a better military than Israel. Israel is backed the U.S, Britian, Germany and other major European countries.

Well, you just can't live in peace if you are weak and unless and until have a strong defense. Arabs need to think about it and act accordingly, otherwise Israel ...............

I am from a eastern europe country, and there aren't many arabs there to begin with.
The original thread about 200,000 Arabs in Eastern Europe was not a fact, it was just some stupid kids reading a article and speculating that all emigrants will come in his country and all 200,000 of them would be Arab.
It was so stupid that thread that after the first page it turns intoo a totally non-related debate and it was closed.

No that is excuses as there are other sources (Russia, China) and if you remember, when Arabs used their "head", they cleverly (egyptians esp.) used SAMs and integrated air defence to create havoc for Israel in '73..
Anyway, not to "offtopic" but I have been on this M. E. subforum of this site and have seen what is going on!!
Though what is happening to palestineans is wrong but for the Arab world to take "refuge" under that problem and sweep aside any reforms/developments in their own countries is highly condemnable!!
And as a departing comment, I ALSO FIND THE ARAB TREATMENT OF THE PALESTINEANS (ESP. PRE-67 BUT EVEN NOW AS WELL) AS SELFISH AND CRUDE AS WELL!

I am tired of hearing about how oppressed the Arab people are.
The Arabs are oppressed by their own political and religious leaders.
Do you know what oppressed people are good at? They are good at oppressing others.
The national pastime of the Arab tribes in Sudan is killing non-Arabs.
Are there any Arab nations trying to stop this? I don’t know of any.

Well I am talking about Palestineans vs. Israel and palestineans have genuine grievances.. >(
Though, I also said in the post if you look that no way does it let arab nations to hide behind palestineans and stop all reforms/developement though in reality, they aren't doing much for the Palestinean cause anayway!!

If you want to build an argument then do it by using facts.. I don’t understand what are you even trying to say. Do you want the destruction of Israel or what?

The Palestinians and the Israelis should sit at a table and argue about whom is the most oppressed.
Argue about who is the biggest victim. Argue about who is the most pathetic.
Jerusalem radiates evil because so many of its people have hearts filled with hate.
The people of Jerusalem confirm what Satan believes.

Satan believes people do not deserve the gift of a soul.
Religious beliefs should be kept personal.
The use of religion as a tool to empower yourself over others is evil.
Respect the beliefs of others. Teaching hatred is evil.
So says the mighty MisterPing.

Maybe to be atheist is the best solution to make you satisfied! What’s the point of being under a religion if you are telling others to separate religion
from life actions!

What connection did you make between my remark and me accusing you in anti-Semitism?
Though you are right marshal.. we Jews have a manual (that I am reading now) that says exactly how we should respond to criticism. For example:
“If you are remained of Palestinians and related issues - bash the victim with holocaust stories!... then when he is weakened take a few millions out of your Jewish bank account and buy his home in order to kick him out and take over his land!”

None taken.. well most jews are secular anyway(Christians too), and its even strange to start explaining why you are wrong about what you said. Religion is only a part of the issue, not the entire thing.
What do you believe in that you speak from above about monotheism?

I don’t think that being religious is being a “crazy idiot”.. but at list from observation you can sense that there is a much bigger percent of Muslims practicing their religion than jews or christians.

All organized religions claim to be on the side of good.
Self-righteous and hate filled people within all religions have caused so much pain to so many.
The most evil people throughout history have said, “God is on our side”.
More people have been killed in the name of God than anything else.

Well...
I remember whatching a documentary last year on PBS(US).
It was about the problem of arab descents(mainly from Morroco and Algeria)
in integrating to the French society. Even 2nd and 3rd generation
arabs lead a parallel life separate from the french mainstream.
A friendly soccer match between Algeria and France ended in a messy riot
when the algerian flag waving french algerians started to boo the FRENCH team.
Those that fail to participate in the mainstream, become resentful of the
host country and often goes fundamentalist....
All this... in a country like France... where tolerance is a core value...
A pessimistic legislator was pushing for forceful asimilaiton laws...
his words still resonate in my ears...
"although unpopular and politically costly.... it is stilll a better option to
a CIVIL WAR"..
wow.... I was dumbfound...

Football matches aren't a basis to be talking about loyalty. Football is a religion in itself for some mad people, and it's not necessarily about countries. There are people from all kinds of countries who support the Manchester United team for example.. or AC Milan. These are clubs, but anyway, the same happens with national teams.
Zinedine Zidane, the top French player, is Algerian himself. He's playing for France.. so who cares if the crowd cheer on Algeria.
Ever heard of this guy, Ferydoon Zandi?

He's half Iranian half German but was raised in Germany with German citizenship, but he chose to play for the Iranian national team although he was offered to play for Germany. Who really cares.

The thing with muslims in France (but not only muslims) is that they are treated like shit, and are put aside in society, living in urban ghettos, are heavily touched by unemployment and poverty, and face hidden rascism in the institutions everyday, no wonder many of them turn to religion

People don't just turn to religion because they're unemployed. There are many employed, rich and educated people who are religious. Religion isn't some 3rd world country phenomenon.

It is a statement on all people.
The more people you have involved in a religion or political party, the more likely evil will infiltrate and corrupt it.
