The problems with the Freedom tower and Trumps new plan for the wtc site maybe? Or maybe the fact that exam time is here so many students will be looking for distractions to their revision!

Schools finishing for most and summer's nearing, that could be it. Things get crazy here as the weather gets better.

Shouldnt it be the opposite? When the weather gets good usually people would spend their time outdoors, and not inside by a computer.. right? :)

Well, he should have atleast some money to spend for creating this wonderful forum we use almost constantly. Jan uses his own money to maintain this site.

Damn the amount of members has almost quadrupled in 1 year. From about 5,000 to 20,000.

Jan should add a paypal thing so that we could donate money to him to help with the cost of running this place.

Thanks for the support and enthusiasm people. :) Actually it would indeed be a bit healthy if this place got a more permanent financial structure then it has now, it shouldn't depend on one person. I also wished I had more time to work on related projects like a news portal and the database project.

yeah and then have a list of people who have donated to make others feel guilty. I have seen this on other large sites

Sounds like an excellent idea.

A paypal 'DONATE' button wouldn't be a bad idea. I'm sure there are members who would donate some once in a while. It probably will not bring in hundreds of euros/dollars each month, but every euro/dollar helps.

^With a site this large, a donation system could probably bring in at least $200 a month. Possibly more, but there's also a lot of kids here that wouldn't or couldn't donate, so I'm sticking with the $200 minimum.

I'm sure there are a quite a number of people who would be able and willing to help you out, Jan, if they were given the opportunity to do so. :)

However, I don't think it would be a good idea to publish a donor list.

Why don't we open a donate found, so we can buy servers with the money;)
