yes,
actually the stands behind the goals were used as stands without seats
so the capacity could reach 60.000-62.000
but since last year in Turkey only all-seaters are allowed

The roof body that will connect the roofing of the Migros and Telsim stands to the new Numaralı’s roof is being connected in one of the biggest construction operations to be seen in Turkey.

Vice President Nihat Özbağı has been monitoring the process since the early hours of the morning.

The steel skeleton weights 610tons and is being lifted with the latest technology systems. A 1000ton special crane that is rarely found across the world lifted the part in half-an-hour.

www.sercan.de
February 27th, 2008, 01:11 PM
Because of GS 's new stadium and i think BJK new one will also have a retraceable roof.
But i do not understand how they will increase the capacity and li do not understand why the moveable roof isn't over the current roof, otherwise half of the picth will be covered, although the roff is opened

Actually this is just the solution of the big rivalry of the Istanbul clubs :D
Because FB's average is 35.000-40.000 (max. 42.000)
They just need more vip suites. 60 is not enough

Lyon, Lyon, Lyon :D
I do not like it, because it doesn't fit to the current roof
Something like Frankfurt or Warsaw would be better.
BTW, they want to increase the capacity, by adding some rows (or tier) at the 2nd tier of the endzone tier

I am sure GS will change his project :D
FB 50.509->GS 52.500->FB 53.000 (?)->GS 55.000 (?) :D

February 27th, 2008, 10:00 PM
I do not know the height, but i think the GS stadium is higher (has got more rows. Just loses at the corners at the 2nd tier)

Actually it can really go like this

1998: GS presents 40.484 stadium
1999: FB starts to built 2 new stands (40.500)
:D

but i notice one thing... this roof does'nt close the stadium :(
There's a space all along the roof, thus air passes in the stadium!!! :bash: how can they make such a mistake when winter in turkey is cold!!!

www.sercan.de
February 28th, 2008, 02:48 PM
Yes, it will be more like Frankfurt. Not roof, more umbrella

But it really looks like, that the roof doesn't go back till the end of the old roof
If the roof rolls back (stadium will be opened) the 2 moveable parts will stop over the pitch
So, in open mode the picth will be half covered
I would still prefer to demolish the 2tier of the endzone stand and add more suites / boxes
This would be my dream for FB stadium :D

New GS stadium has a retractable roof so GS fans will be able to support their team with enormous number of flares as they did before when the roof is open. You don't need to worry about that.

www.sercan.de
April 3rd, 2008, 03:51 PM
Thats actually the biggest fear of the GS and BJK fans.
Therefore most ultras of BJK do not want a new stadium.

At GS ultrAslan has decided to move to one endzone stand (~10,000-11,000). But IMO its too small so 5,000-6,000 have to be at the other endzone stand.
I hope the atmosphere will get better.
objectively it has to be.
Bigger stadium. Stands are closer to the pitch, Roof etc.
GS board and ASp said that they worked for a good acoustic in the stadium.
So i hope it won't be like at FB.

Since 2004/2005 flare shows are not allowed :(

it will be 55k for sure. They will absolutelly add retractable roof and outside will be renewed.

Thanks for answering my question it's good to hear that this project will happen so often when projects such as these have delays it usually means it wont happen.
I hope capacity goes up to around 55,000, if they do fill the gaps at the back of the stands it will make the stadium more compact which should make the stadium have better acoustics, this is gunna be 1 loud stadium maybe it will give Fener an even greater home advantage in the CL.
I don’t know how the planning works in Turkey do Fener already have permission to do these stadium works and also how long would the construction take? Cheers

Kuvvaci
September 17th, 2008, 04:37 PM
yes excetly as you said they will do fill the gaps at the back of the stands and it will be 55k. It is easy to do it for Fenerbahçe, they will do it in a few months during the summer. Because the president of the club is the owner of one of the most important internation consruction company of Turkey :D they also buy the some buildings around the stadium (they bought the school next to the stadium) and build something else with the combination with the stadium, this is why outside will change also.

BTW Fener will play against Porto tonight and we have no hope this year. Because the team of the last year is changed, There is a new coach, Aragones and obviously he needs time because Fener's performance at the first 3 matches of Turkish League is terrible for now. And there are many injuries, and some low form players. When Fener will start to play good, I guess they will already be eliminated from CL. Zico's first year performance was bad too, at the second year he achieved so much.

I hope you are wrong I really enjoyed watching Feners run to the quarters last season and I thought you bought a few decent players in the summer maybe if you give the team a little while they will improve. I have a lot of respect for the passion of the Fenerbache supporters the atmosphere you generated during the game against Chelsea was very impressive. Do you reckon that in the next few years Fener will be filling the stadium every game rather than only for the big games and possibly force further expansions or is that going to be impossible after this expansion?

first they said they will build a mall but recently it is said hotel. Actually everything can change.

Fenerbahçe lost some good players with transfer or injury. Only Güiza is a good transfer but lose is bigger than Güiza's tranfer. Yes we saw the result yesterday, though second half Fenerbahçe played better. We don't have alternate players and we saw the result. If this match have been played last year, result would be oposite.

I certainly believe Fenerbahçe will be a good team and have goos results, but it neds a few months more. So it will be so late for CL :(

Your other question. Fenerbahçe sold 30.000 season ticket this year. only 20.000 tickets are for weekly selling. But because of Ramadan, stadiums are empty for now.

Thank you once again for providing information. Do you know if the hotel/mall will be a part of the stadiums structure or will it be a separate structure? In England there are many stadiums that have hotels attached to the stadium and I think it looks awful. Dou you know how they would add extra suites into the stadium?

I can't wait for next season Champions League so many clubs are building stadiums and expanding, hopefully these developments will add to clubs revenues and mean even fiercer competition. I think in the future both Gala and Fener will be competing for top honours, both have huge global fan bases and soon both clubs will have top class stadiums.

CL, we still hope, Actually we have a good "base".
- Football is no. 1 sports (87% of the Turks are football fans 61 Mil.)
- Like England, Italy, Spain, Portugal or Netherlands we have "big 3-4" teams
- Young population (Still crazy that we have such a achievement without football acedemy. Most of the players learned football in the streets)

But the smaller teams have to become bigger. "Support" your local team must rise. More new modern stadiums have to b built. And of course we have to sell the SüperLig matches to foreign countries.

We have no informations. Just those 3 renderings.
I think it will be a seperate building with connection to the stadium.
Some years ago there was another project.

Will search for pics.

Nowadys over 170 countries broadcast the EPL.
The Turkish one?
1 (Turkey :D )

ecept 5 or 6 clubs, Turkish clubs have not a real club identity. They are not organization. In wich country in the world, do municipalities have professional football clubs?

Turkish football is not a good foundation. One step forward, one step back. Even our best clubs have amateur mentality. Look at Fenerbahçe, when they started to be successfull at the international stage, for stupidities, because of amateur reasons, although they must put something new to be stronger than last year, they established a worse squade and destory all sutructure and started from zero with a new coach who has 70 years old and doesn't have any foreign country experience, although he is last European Champion. In the long term Aragones will be successfull, but if president accepts a temporary suffering months. But that means it was starting from zero.

Look at Galatasaray, once the UEFA Super Cup owner. Turkish Champ of last year. 3 goals on their side from Bellinzona! What is Bellinzona, not even Swiss champ. Thanks God they could make 4 goals... Kayseri had a scandal result too. Beşiktaş, what happened to them, 1-0 against Metalist. Not even Dynamo or Shaktar...

So, Turkish football doesn't go anywhere possitve. We can get into the last 4 at EURO, and probably we won't be in S.Africa. This will be always like this. For 70 years football is the most popular sport in this country, but for 70 years we couldn't achieve or even consider about establish a good fundamental schools. And all works are connected to the person, not organized. You will see, TFF president Hasan Doğan passed away, now all his projects will send to the fridge, deep freeze. Don't you see the new guy? Neither porject nor any enthusiasm.

Nothing will happen, you will see.

Sercan thanks for providing that information. At the moment those renders look very early in design and I'm sure they will have changed by the time construction starts.

CL, we still hope, Actually we have a good "base".
- Football is no. 1 sports (87% of the Turks are football fans 61 Mil.)

What does the other 13% do?
I think the Turkish league along with the Russian has the potential to become a major European league (probably not EPL level). Firstly both have a population, both have rapidly expanding economies and both get large amounts of private investment which is key for the revenue of any league.
Also I'm sure eventually the Turkish League will be aired abroad as their is millions of Turks who live abroad in Germany, Cyprus, Switzerland, Austria, France, UK etc. And as long as there is a decent sized audience for the Turkish League then eventually broadcasters will air the league.
But it is key that the clubs outside Istanbul build new improved stadiums and get investment to make them serious competitors.

Kuvvaci you shouldn't read too much into those results Spurs only beat Wisla 2-1 at home and Feyeenord lost 1-0 at home to Kalmar so there is always shaky results at this stage. I really do think that in 5-10 years if Turkey improves the professionalism and administration of the game they will be a great force in the European game.

BTW, this is the 1st project.

It was planned to add new end stands (the current ones) to the old stadium.
Capacity was proposed to be 42,000.
http://www.beepworld.de/memberdateien/members37/sukrusaracoglu/stadgorunum3d6-2.jpg

So the current goal stands are designed for the old stands. Therefore the goal stands aren't so close to the picth (13-15m)

I heard that Fenerbahce first wants to get the cadastre/land registry(i hope that is the correct translation of "tapu"). The Stadium belongs to FB but as i know not the land... after they get it they will start with the works.

Businessseats at the goal stand? I would add suits at both goal stand so they would have a complett suit ring. And expand the two upper goal stands.

As far as i know they also want wo do some work outside they Stadium. New Cladding...
