Motul June 5th, 2005, 08:51 PM Hello Israeli forumers... I am parting to your beautiful country for the first time TODAY at 3 pm, all the way from Mexico to Tel Aviv and making transit in Amsterdam... Anyways, the point of this thread is to ask for info about nice places to visit, it is a guided tour, so all the historical stuff i dont have to worry about, but i want to know about other places I can go in the free time... Nightlife, museums, beaches, gay scene(how are israeli men?), big parks, beaches maybe, markets, etc etc....
Anyways, any type of help and opinions will be greatly appreciated, as I want to maximize my experience and make the best out of the trip to your beautiful country...
Thank you very much :)

First of all I wish you’ll have a great time in Israel!
There are people here that can tell you all about what to do in tel-aviv where most of the nightlife and gays are.
As for nice places.. take a couple of days in eilat – its our summer resort, a beautiful place in the desert on the coast of the red-sea with lovely beaches and good tourism infrastructures.
Museums – best one in my opinion is the Israel-museum in Jerusalem. It has a big art collection and often galleries come with pictures of the most known artists in the world.
The loveliest views are in northern Israel(Golan ,karmal, north galil) – green hills, wild animals, small water streams and waterfowls.
Don’t forget to stop and eat local Humus.
enjoy! :)

Motul June 16th, 2005, 07:53 PM Hi, thanks fort your help Zohar and Shodad... I just came back from Israel the day before yesterday... And i must say thats a BEAUTIFULL country you guys got there, but you obviously know that lol.. anyways, Israel is one of the most interesting and nice places ive gone to, I loved it all...
Anyways, yes, Israelis are very hot people... They look alot like southern Europeans(Italian, Spanish, Greek, etc...).. Unfortunately the tour was very busy and i never got a chance to go out by myself and explore the nightlife a bit, thats a shame... but next time i will for sure! :)
Monkey June 16th, 2005, 07:58 PM hehehe u are welcome and thanx for u'r words.....
tell us more about u'r tour.......it's very interesting...have u been in Netanya or Tel Aviv?
please tell more....
RoM June 16th, 2005, 10:10 PM Hey Motul, first of all its nice to know youve been here, can you tell me more about what youve seen? and what you liked?
Motul June 17th, 2005, 02:23 AM Oops... sorry, I shouldve gone more into details, but i didnt have time before.... so here it goes...
I arrived to Tel Aviv the first day, at about 2 am... The first thing i saw in Isarael was of course the Ben Gurion Airport, which was simply magnificent... I was blown away by the beauty of this airport, which is easily one of the best ive seen in my entire life...
I arrived to the Renaissance Hotel, which in front of the beach, nice hotel, but not the best... The city itself was very nice and reminded me of any other mediterranean city, such as Barcelona... And nice scrapers at the Ramat Gan sector.. Loved the Azrieli... Oh, Yafo was also beautiful...
The second day I visited Caesarea, Haifa (just a church and the bahai`i temple)... The view of the city from the hilltop was astounding...then we proceeded to Acco (San Juan de Accre) and visited the medievel fortress... afterwords we continued to the north, right next to the border with Lebanon, and slept that night in a Kibbuts... The kibbuts was so so.. but its views were amazing...
The third day we went to the Jordan River and I dont remember what day we went to the Lake of Galilea.. but we sailed around and it was also nice... we also went to Nazareth and visited some famous things there related to Christ (almost the whole trip was related to Jesus Christ :P)... At nigh we slep at Tiberias and i swam at the sweet water lake Galilea.. It felt extremely weird, as i am used to swimming in salt water beaches...
The 4th day we head of to Jerusalem... Beautiful city with lots to see, but very religious for my taste :O... Nice streets, and nice buildings, but SOOO much white becomes monotonous at some point!!... In Jerusalem I visited the Holocaust museum (I nearly wept in there), the museum of Israel, the old city of course... Ben something street (the one with no cars), the Via Dolorosa, and basically many things more.. The city that i got to see most of was Jerusalem as we stayed 3 days there, as opposed to just 1 day in Tel Aviv and a few hours in the rest of the cities... On 5th day I went for a short visit to Bettlehem.. No big deal really, and after seeing Nazareth, and Acco, this type of cities were becoming boring... At night I went back to Jerusalem and went to sleep... My hotel was the Renaissance, it was quite nice and even better than the Renaissance Tel Aviv..
On the 6th and final day I went to the Ahava factory, next to the Dead Sea, and to a Spa next to the sea, it was fun floating like that hehe... but it wasnt so much fun when a drop of water went into my eye :(... On the way from Jerus to the Dead Sea I saw many beduins in the desert, which was very interesting... Oh that day I also visited Massada, loved it, and the views from up there were amazing... Back to jerusalem to sleep
7th day... Ben Gurion-Amsterdam-Mexico City-Merida... More than 24 hours of travel, so imagine how exhausted I was when i got back home!! :P
My conclusion on Israel: One of the most beautiful and interesting places on this earth, a melting pot of cultures, and a place where many of the most amazing civilizations have left their trace... If you want to see Roman culture, go to italy, Byzantine? Ottoman? Go to Turkey, Egyptian? go to Egypt, etc etc... But if you want to see them all together and in a modern place with all the commodities of a first world country... Then go to Israel :)... Israel has had an INCREDIBLE history and chain of events, ever since it was proclaimed the Promissed Land, till today...
My conclusion of Israelis: Israelis I found to be one of the most beutiful people I have seen.. What a mix of races and colors, but all of them with very beautiful features.. They are educated and poleight, also open and friendly to people from everywhere, even tho they are getting over flooded by them, and their streets are filled with tour buses, lol... Israelis are extremely proud of their country, hebrew language, culture and heritage, but they are never up to their heads, it seemed to me like they are very down to earth people, all this shows they know how to forgive for all of the attrocities commited against them in the past, but they also will never forget, nor will they let these attrocities happen again... It seems like (and im talking more about Jews when i say this) Israelis have passed through a attrocity, followed by a few more, ever since their beginning, this has also helped them grow and mature altogether and become the people they are now a days, one of the most advanced society I have seen... and finally they are having some peace, and I hope it lasts forever...
I love Israel and its people :)
everythingisone June 17th, 2005, 02:42 AM Thanks Motul for the description of your visit and your thoughts about the places and the people.
