There are some renderings I've seen which I'm not sure belong to which project or whether they have been approved or even constructed. Here's one from Kish Island:

Tourism Hamlet Museum Planned In Mashhad
Iran's first tourism hamlet museum is going to be established in the town of Tous, in Mashhad, Fars news agency reported.
"The complex will include about 145 museums including museums of water, iron, copper, stone, wood, textiles, light, weaving, spinning, pottery, carpet, traditional costumes, inlaid work, etc.," designer of the project, Seyyed Hassan Mousavi, was quoted as saying.
He explained that other parts have been allocated to the display of antiques, local arts, as well as tribal and rural lifestyles and traditions.
According to Mousavi, the project is expected to transfer traditional and indigenous arts to the young generation, revive the forsaken arts and promote research in various handicraft fields.
"The building will be inspired by ancient Iranian architecture. We will also seek the advice of cultural heritage and tourism experts in building the museum," he noted.
More than 50 billion rials in initial credits will have to be set aside for construction of the 200-hectare museum, Mousavi mentioned.
Khorasan Governor General's Office, Cultural Heritage and Tourism Department and Mashhad Municipality will contribute to the project.

Modern Movie Studio Planned
TEHRAN, Feb. 27, 2005 --Iranian cinema sector will be equipped with the most updated studio of international standing.
According to ILNA, the plan to set up the studio, which will later be converted to a cinema region, was studied by Culture and Islamic Guidance Ministry’s Cinematic Department a year ago.
In the initial stage, a sum of 66.5 million euros has been earmarked for the project, which will be implemented in Hashtgerd and Kish.
In Hashtgerd, 68 kilometers west of Tehran, the project will be implemented in an area of 100 hectares in three phases: construction of buildings, importing construction materials and cinematic equipment needed for commissioning the studio for which 30 million euros, five million euros and 13 million euros have been allocated respectively.
However, the project in Kish zone, which will serve as a complementary studio, will be part of the cinematic region in tandem with Hashtgerd.
Capital recovery will begin two to six years after the project is completed.
Such a studio, which is currently lacking in Iran, will be set up irrespective of political developments and will enable the Iranian cinema industry to enter a new phase.
Ten European entrepreneurs involved in the field of studio and cinematic equipment business are participating in a seminar here to present the Hashtgerd International Studio.
The companies will also put on display their products on the sidelines of the event. Sachtler, Arri, Panther, Thomson, Ernemann, Cooke, Merging Technique and Consultants are taking part in the exhibition.

World's Highest Concrete Dam Planned
TEHRAN, Nov. 10, 2004--Iran is planning to build the world's highest concrete dam in partnership with foreign investors.
Announcing this, Vafa Tabesh, Bakhtiari Dam project manager, told ILNA that some 500 million euros will be invested in the giant project, which is expected to take 6-7 years to be completed. The project will be implemented on Bakhtiari River in Khuzestan province, which is one of the main tributaries of the Dez River.
"Iranian and foreign experts have reached a consensus on the location of the 315-meter dam, which will be the highest of its kind in the world," he said, adding that the project will be complex.
He further noted that a 1,500-megawat-capacity power plant could also be installed on the facility whose reservoir's capacity is estimated at four billion cubic meters of water.
"The only problem is the lack of adequate transportation links to the location of the facility," he said, adding that the only way to transfer equipment now is to use the Tehran-Ahvaz railroad.
Tabesh said it will be difficult to construct roads in the mountainous area, adding that construction of roads would cost up to 700 billion rials.
Iran is reportedly one of the world's top dam-building countries. Over 80 percent of the equipment used in dam-building projects is produced domestically. Iranian engineers design most of the plans. Some 85 dam projects will become operational by March 2006.
Fifty percent of these projects have been and will be implemented during President Mohammad Khatami's tenure.
There were 35 major dams operating across the country and 54 more were under construction in 1997, when Khatami won his first landslide.
In 1979, the year of the victory of the Islamic Revolution, national power generation capacity was 1,800 megawatts. The figure reached 2,000 megawatts in 1997 and will hit a record 5,000 megawatts next year.

Monorail to be launched in Tehran
Tehran, April 13 - Tehran municipality is to undertake a ground-breaking 135 million euros project for establishment of monorail service between central and downtown Tehran.
Tehran Municipality awaits Tehran City Council's (TCC) approval of a bill, which calls for implementation of the project under bot scheme to connect Imam Hossein and Rah-Ahan squares through a 19.5 kms monorail line.
The line comprises about 50 stations, whose maintenance cost has been estimated at 2.2 million euros a year with an annual growth rate of 20 percent.
Tehran City Council has yet to examine and approve the bill.
TCC's technical commission has opposed the bill due to ambiguities in the definition of bot offered for the project, unspecified duration for implementation of the project and failure to assess monthly profits of the project.
Furthermore, the projected monorail service is said to be unable to be as efficient as public bus transportation services, according to head of the urban development and technical commission of the TCC Hassan Ziari in a letter to the TCC head.

Tehran, 5 January 2006 (Payvand) -- The entertainment complex of Aras Free Zone will be built with the cooperation of a Chinese consortium.
Amir Hossein Shemshadi, head of the public relations office of Aras Free Zone announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Aras free zone and China. Shemshadi also added that after a comprehensive study on the zone and finding the right location to build this complex, the project will start; and the Chinese company has undertaken the responsibility of building this complex in only one year.
According to Shemshadi, since large parts of the free zone's lands are under protection, a land should be chosen for this project which not only would cause no harm to the nature but also would provide facilities for the tourists to enjoy the diverse wildlife of this region.
Aras Free Zone is located in the basin of Aras River in the Iranian province of East Azarbaijan at a distance of 137 kilometers from Tabriz and 761 kilometers from Tehran. Jolfa is its capital city.
The city of Jolfa, with less than 5000 population, has an active customhouse whose construction goes back to 100 years ago. Jolfa receives around 700,000 passengers each year and is the second major traffic border of Iran after Tehran's Mehrabad International airport. Jolfa receives a large number of inbound visitors, while it does not have enough facilities to serve them all.
In addition to natural tourism attraction sites, there are some historical sites in Aras trade-industrial free zone, such as Saint Espanos Church, Khoda Afarin historical bridges, and Kordasht complex.
During the Parthian era, the city of Jolfa was a residence of Iranian-Armenian minorities. Later, by the order of Shah Abbas, the Safavid king, about 3000 Armenian families of Jolfa were moved to a city with the same name in Isfahan to play a role in silk export from the Persian Gulf.

Venice Tourism Project opened in Iran
Dec 14, 2005
Shadegan lagoon tourism project started its work in Iran. Shadegan, a lagoon in Khuzestan province, is going to turn into the "Venice of Iran" within 5 years.
Last year Mohammad Sadeghi, director of the Cultural Heritage and Tourism Organization of Khuzestan province announced that the beautiful Shadegan lagoon can be transformed into the "Venice of Iran" by spending about $40 mln.
Rural houses in this region have been built from straw bales, and its inhabitants use boats for transportation. Every year, thousands of birds migrate to the lagoon from Siberia and North Asia, making it a desirable spot for bird watching tours.
The first phase which was the reconstruction and embellishment of Ragbeh village, one of the villages of the lagoon, opened yesterday. The access path to this village is due to be ready as the first step for holding tours in Shadegan Lagoon.
According to Mahammadi, the lagoon will enjoy comfortable facilities, fishing sites, restaurants, and camping sites within 5 years. Establishing a museum for Shadegan Lagoon to display the pictures of Ragbeh village is also included in the project's programs.
Mohammadi expressed hope that the project would progress in such a way that would enable the tour and travel agencies to hold their first Shadegan lagoon tours next year. According to Mohammadi, holding bird watching tours, anthropological tours, and boating in the lagoon are among the programs of these travel and tour agencies.
Having a 400,000 hectare area, Shadegan is a registered lagoon in the list of Ramsar International Convention, and is the residential place of some Iranians who live mostly by fishing.

Tehran ICT Park
http://www.magfa.com/assets/images/pg_intr/tehran-ict-park.jpg
Tehran ICT Park brings together ICT related national and international companies into a dynamic hub for interactive business relations. The Park will also offer consulting services, including facilities for training, research centers, conferences, exhibitions, as well as an incubator and a data center.
Magfa’s mission is to implement the preliminary feasibility studies and to prepare the related Business Plan in association with a reputable foreign consultant.
Tehran ICT Park project is supported by Iran Industrial Development and Renovation Organization (IDRO), and is in form of a Joint Venture with “Small Industries and Industrial Estate Organization”.
Kish IT Tower
http://www.magfa.com/assets/images/pg_intr/kish_IT_tower_pgintr.jpg
Magfa and Kish University have invested in a joint venture to establish an IT Tower in Kish Island, operating under the management of a newly established company named "Fava Kish Gostar". Kish IT Tower will offer all IT related facilities to its tenants, including hardware and software infrastructures, learning services through e-Learning or traditional classes, and incubator services. This offers national and international companies the opportunity of being a tenant in Kish IT Tower and to take advantage of the benefits offered by the Kish Free Zone.
Shiraz Electronic Internet City
http://www.magfa.com/assets/images/pg_intr/shiraz_elec_int_pgintr.jpg
Magfa, acting on behalf of IDRO, is currently working towards the establishment of an Electronic Internet City in Shiraz in joint association with Shiraz Special Electronic Economic Zone (SEEZ). SEIC will offer a setting for commercial and development activities in Iran’s ICT sector, with the goal of launching sound business ventures that enhance domestic ICT business capabilities for export and attract foreign investment by leading international ICT firms in the form of outsourcing contracts, joint ventures, and direct investments. While Shiraz Electronic and Internet City (SEIC) will be built as for-profit business venture returning profit to investors, part of the rental or sale revenues from the site will be used for expansion, marketing, and consulting activities as well as for credit subsidies, training, creation of research centers, and organizing conferences and exhibitions.
SEIC will also have all major facilities and amenities including an incubator and a data center. SEIC will act as an electronic pole for transferring and nourishing ICT knowledge and capital, and a center for synergy between active and potential entities involved in the field of electronics and ICT. SEIC will also perform as an international ICT communication center/channel for the Persian Gulf and Caspian Sea neighboring countries.
In the first phase of its project, Magfa is seeking:
-Well-established overseas Hi-Tech companies willing to transfer their technologies for the development of ICT in Iran
-Foreign and national investors
-Accredited/authentic international consultants for selecting suitable and convenient Flagship applications for the implementation of SEIC as testing ground
-Accredited/authentic consultants for preparing the final business plan jointly with investors
Tehran IT & Science Museum
http://www.magfa.com/assets/images/pg_intr/tehran_it_museum_pgintr.jpg
In light of our promotional and educational goals for ICT development in Iran, Magfa has initiated the creation of an educational and cultural space in order to develop an ongoing relationship between science, ICT and the Iranian society.
In this context, the IT & Science Museum will depict and demonstrate ICT innovations and achievements in an environment easily accessible to people from all ages and social groups. The physical space will consist of ICT-related exhibitions, using hands-on and interactive techniques shown both in the frame of traditional, informative museum representations, as well as hands-on exhibits where visitors are invited to push buttons, turn dials, and "interact" with the displayed pieces. Emphasis will be placed on communication modes in the modern world, computers and Internet, ICT applications in our daily lives and its strong interdependence with other sciences. In parallel with the physical museum, a virtual IT museum will also be built, where visitors could access the website, regardless of time and location constraints.
This project was ratified by the IT High Assembly of the Ministry of Industries and Mines. Magfa has prepared the Business Plan preparation in collaboration with the Municipality of Tehran, the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Industries and Mines, and is currently working towards the establishment of the museum.

Standard Golf Course To Be Built in Iran
1/29/2005
Tehran, Jan. 28 —An Iranian residing in Australia is executing the establishment of a standard golf court in Iran.
The entertainment complex would be situated in an area between Chaloos and Noshahr in northern Iran, and its court will be the first standard golf court in the country after acquiring the agreement of Iran Physical Training Organization.
“The green pastures in the northern parts of Iran demand the construction of suitable golf courts, considering the fact that the Iranian golf federation supports private businessmen interested in establishing golf and mini-golf courts in the area,” Mohammadreza Naddafpour, head of Iran’s Golf Federation, told CHN.
“In the meantime, a private investor in Mazandaran province in northern Iran is trying to achieve the official agreement for the establishment of a 100-hectare standard golf court in an area between Chaloos and Noshahr,” He added.
According to his estimates, at least 50 hectares of ground is required for the establishment of a standard golf court, and the estimated construction time after achieving the official agreement would be 2 years.
According to Naddafpour, Iran’s golf federation support is defined as expediting the issue of official agreement from Iranian Physical Training Organization and allocating a loan to the executive of the project.

Beware of crappy grammar:
A Standard Golf Course to be Built in Northwest Iran
Tehran, 27 December 2005 (CHN) -- The first standard golf course of northwestern Iran will be established in the only sport complex of Sarein. Therefore, from then on people and tourists can enjoy playing golf in addition to other sports such as skiing and horse riding.
This tourist sport complex has a 60 hectare area and is located in the tourism resort of Sarien in Ardebil Province. This sport complex is currently under construction and is being constructed with the cooperation of executive organizations of Ardabil province and Ali Daiee (one of the most famous Iranian soccer players, who is from Ardebil himself).
“Golf Federation has many programs for the development of this sport in different parts of the country such as Sarein, Kashan, Hashtgerd, Masjid Soleiman, Mashhad and Kerman. These programs will be fulfilled by constructing standard golf courses,” said Mohammad Reza Nadafpoor, secretary of the Golf Federation of Iran.
The history of this sport in Iran goes back to some 85 years ago when the foreign explorers came to this country in search of oil in southern parts of Iran. Thus the southern people of Iran were the first who learned to play golf and became interested in this game.
So far, Enghelab Sport Complex in Tehran has the only standard golf course in the country. Therefore, the construction of this golf course in northwest of Iran is a big step toward developing this sport in the country.

Tehran, 23 February 2006 (CHN) -- Espinas hotels group is going to construct a resort area including 150 residential villas, an Iranian garden, and a water park in Kish Island by April 2007.
By spending more than 3 million US dollars, this hotels group is determined to construct a residential-entertainment resort center in a 130,000 square meter area in Kish Island which will include an aqua park, a garden, and 150 residential suites.
“There will be water streams all around these villas, and a 5-star hotel will be built in the middle of them,” said Asghar Amiri, executive director of Espinas hotels group.
This five star hotel will be built in 12 floors and 180 rooms. Amiri expressed hope that with construction of this resort center, some 1000 beds will be added to the residential capacity of Kish Island. According to Amiri, Austrian architects have promised to help Espinas hotels group for the design of this project. With construction of a water park and providing sports facilities, Iran is trying to convince the foreign and domestic tourists to spend more time in this resort center which will help developing the tourism of Kish Island.
Amiri has also expressed hope that implementation of this project would change the tourism destination from Dubai to Kish Island for a large number of tourists. The pre-contract of building this water park has been signed between Iran and an Austrian company, and the construction of it will start in the near future.
A restaurant and a dock for berthing of cruise boats and ships will be constructed at a 300-meter distance from the seashore. This complex includes four restaurants, and sport facilities such as a golf course and hiking and bicycle trails.
“We are determined to change this resort complex to an appropriate place for families to have fun in; therefore, eight of the villas will have private open pools for the use of families,” explained Amiri.
Kish is an Iranian island in the Persian Gulf, and is considered part of the Hormozgan province. Due to its status as a free trade zone, it is well regarded as a “consumer’s paradise”, and features numerous shopping centers, tourist attraction places, and resort hotels. Kish Island has an estimated population of about 150,000 residents; and about 1.5 million people visit the island annually.
Kish Island is one of the most beautiful coral islands in the world. It enjoys very clear and crystalline water. In addition to its natural and entertainment tourism attractions, Kish Island has some historical sites as well such as the 2000-year-old aqueduct which with its beautiful coral walls and ceiling has changed into one of the tourism attraction sites of the island. Moreover, the remains of Harireh historical city which goes back to more than 1000 years ago can still be seen in Kish Island.

Honestly, I get the sense that what they call seven stars, perhaps except flower of the east, is a 5 star, IF THAT, by their standards.
And I think by calling all of these seven stars, it brings down the value of the FOE which may in fact be that high of a level.
BUt you know what I don't understand? Have you guys been to Las Vegas? You go to Venecian or Belagio or the Wynn, and these are 5 star hotels. I cannot imagine any of these hotels that they call seven starts being ANYWHERE close to the Las Vegas hotels...
Even with the Shiraz one that it said seven stars, another article said 5 stars. So, don't put too much weight in them.
And Shayan, you are so right. Many people would go to Iran even if it didn't have "seven star" hotels. It's the lack of freedom and insecurity that keeps people away. Well that, with not doing a good job on advertising and promoting Iran's tourism...

^^very nice and good-looking buildings -especially the first one. I hope they build it as soon as possible. It is somehow different than the other high rises in Tehran. It looks moderner and it has more glass usage. It is really beautiful. Any more info on it? I am not sure, but is this hotel being built by the private sector?

Yes it's private and waiting for approval. But you won't see this 170-190m 'scraper anywhere near Tehran's skyscrapers :(

first thank you and maybe it is unique to be just one so beautiful skyscraper in the district. You know the design fits to the houses in the district, although they are all villas (as far as I know) and so it unique... do you know what I mean ? xD

Looks very similar to to Q1 tower in Gold Coast, Australia. Only huge difference is that Q1 is the highest residential tower in the world, and this one has about 32 floors
