Okay so as promised I went to Stoney Creek Battlefield today. The whole area is a National Historical Site. Basically summed up the Battle of Stoney Creek (June 5th of 1813) was the turning point of War of 1812. The Americans lost and stopped their further invasion of Canada. By the end of the Battle of Stoney Creek the Americans surrendered and went back to Niagara on the Lake, they also lost that battle too.

Great pics! I'll have to go to that site when I'm in Ontario in August. Can you walk to the top of the monument?

Yep you can get up on the monument. But they won't allow you to get on the very top. They wouldn't let me. The re-enactment is only done twice a year. Cost $5 to get in.
