View Full Version : SQ 19
heirloom June 6th, 2005, 04:23 PM should this thread be named 'flying the world'? well anyway now i'm bored in my room in orlando and thought i would post some pics of my flight on sq 19. it was a rather pleasant experience, even in executive economy. hardly felt like the world's second longest flight.
sq 19, airbus a 340-500, formerly known as Leadership.

wing seat, too bad can't see the engines

i was lucky enough to get a seat at the front of the cabin. lotsa room for legs, however short they might be. i watched in good company, some french movie about two sisters (the one with isabelle huppert), uh robots, and the firebird ballet. movies and shows are amazing at shortening the journey :D

service was, as usual, non intrusive but very adequate :) the seats weren't soft enough though cos i had a buttache. but i tend to have butt aches on most chairs. in any case, this flight was heaven compared to the UA one, even though it was just 4 hours.
heirloom June 6th, 2005, 04:25 PM oh and another thing, i noticed they have resume the usage of metal cutlery, including knives, even in economy class! well executive economy :D
that led me to think about a lot of stupid things, which in turn made me want plastic cutlery back.
hyacinthus June 6th, 2005, 04:37 PM so, you would still travel on SIA after all those website complaints? :)
Food looks okay... Ben and Jerry? :D

heirloom June 6th, 2005, 04:52 PM so, you would still travel on SIA after all those website complaints?
definitely!! i dont think i can choose from many carriers; i like to stick to star alliance to accumulate miles, so that leaves me singapore airlines, sas, and uhm... i dunno. many austrian might be nice?
yep ben and jerry's, and thanks :) on the return flight i'll try to remember to go to the snack bar and take pictures of business class food (try try):)
metal knifes ..fischy stuff on airlines

hyacinthus June 7th, 2005, 10:13 AM you are in Sweden, right? I believe it's quite affordable to take budget airlines like ryanair to European countries. Start planning one too. :) Or start taking pics around Sweden. Hmmm... somehow, I have yet seen much pics of Sweden here. *Hint* *Hint*
I can't wait to travel again... But, my leave application would not be approved till Sept and hard to find someone to go with me.
heirloom June 7th, 2005, 01:49 PM oh it is so not fun here :( plus i tour orlando alone, amkes it even worse :p
the only consolation is i've seen a REAL apple mini store! well its probably like applecentres in sg. but i must get to see the larger apple store in LA!
you know if you go to the downtown orlando site, they have a list of the stores in the city. they can fit into half a mall and they even list two 7-11s!!! lololol

I've never flown such a long nonstop flight before
are u jet-lagged?
heirloom June 8th, 2005, 06:43 PM no not at all! then again i suffer very little from going on flights, so its probably not unusual for me to be not jetlagged. as i said, the flight didnt really feel like it was the world's longets flight last year, partly due to krisworld.

andrewSQ347 June 15th, 2005, 01:13 PM oh.... the exterior of changi? i doubt i have many, if there are.. i'll look though
well thanks .
The worst part are the End of T2 close to gates F59 and F60, and the exterior part facing the road and parking as ,there are very few images on internet.
BTW I already have a lot of images from airliners.net , jetliners.net ... ;)
I could ask for images in few months , when I will be a bit further into the project ;)
heirloom June 15th, 2005, 10:43 PM oh i think i might have gone to those gates sometime last year... i will look through once i get around to organising my recent photos :)
RafflesCity June 15th, 2005, 10:56 PM would love to see more inflight pics, and the flight routing as the plane flew over the Pacific.
so cool
heirloom June 15th, 2005, 11:09 PM ooops i didnt get pics of the flight routing... but i know we flew over the philippines.. over the south china sea.. between east and west malaysia.. in between i was sleeping.
