You guys who get to watch this on TV, please fill in the rest of us as to the results :)

Some of the projects going for an MUSP: ICON Brickell, 1650 Biscayne, 600 Biscayne, Coastal on the River, Urban River.

-It looks like Cardinal Symphony (1650 Biscayne) will be 3 buildings and 600 Biscayne will contain a 12,000 sqft museum.
-Also look at item #12. It mentions the development of a 1.5 million sqft government center.

How tall were Century towers supposed to be?

five 5-story buildings and two 7-story buildings. 3/4 of a mile from the end of the runway, directly in the flight path. Who would want to live there anyway? A bit too loud for my ability to sleep.
Of course it would have been shorter than the building right next door on each side but FAA with its "consider each building on an individual basis" doesn't take that into account.

rx,no point in getting pictures we've seen every rendering of icon, and the only other project that was shown was century towers which was a little squat 74feet building that was cheap looking.

as to the new juvenile court center they didn't show any renderings because design was ready ,the cardinal symphony and 600 biscayne were continued to june 29 and july 13.

but there is one bit of useful information from last night that was that icon said demolition would begin 4th quarter of this year, and groundbreaking for the northeast tower(the tallest at 611) would begin in feb06. the second tower would begin in august06 and the last tower(the hotel brickell ave. tower, the smallest)would begin in feb07...project completion date would be 2009 at a cost way above 1billion and also it would have an 150 foot high parking deck with an exclusive publically accesible high class restaurant facing the bay.

This week before the full City Commission:

Buried on page 33 of the agenda for the City of Miami commission for 7/28 you will see there is a 1.5 million sqft government office building being developed. The city is delaying its completion date to 2009.

Also Miami Rivertown, Portico and Capital at Brickell, Park Place II, and Cardinal Symphony are going for their final approval.

Morningside Civic assosiation is appealing to stop more previously approved projects.

Tucker Gibbs is appealing to stop a Mercy Hospital Emergency Room expansion (just wait till they hear about the condo tower).

Oh, one more thing I just noticed it says that Paramount Pictures and Jennifer Lopez will be addressing the commission to request a waiver of the noise ordinance for the filming of a TV show called "South Beach". It guess it will be shot in Miami rather than Miami Beach.

I'm sure it will be shot in both.

I hope the show is successful and doesn't pull a CSI by suddenly deciding to do the majority of filming in LA.

We can expect this to be a slow month for new projects. The City of Miami Planning Board and Zoning board both go on vacation for all of August. No board meetings until September.
