Anyone have the history on this thing? It seems to be rather odd and I'm not sure of the current status. I think it has finally been completed, according to this recent pic:

But according to this interview from TehranAvenue.com (http://www.tehranavenue.com/article.php?id=179) from Sep. 2003, the complex was left unfinished for more than a decade, and the company behind it has some problems.

They're also behind that proposed building for Shiraz which I showed in another thread.

blackforest June 8th, 2005, 02:29 AM They shouldn't have continued with this project after they stopped for a decade. It looks very dated. Actually, a lot fo Atisaz's projects are similar.. except the Shiraz one is a bit better.

Gilgamesh May 6th, 2006, 01:14 PM It's an eyesore alright.
Yes and it's already outdated.
shayan May 6th, 2006, 01:25 PM I hope they will finish the project in Shiraz... I prefere 2 nice buildings of 20 floors in shiraz than 3 ugly 50 floor buildings in Shiraz..
Meh....
persian May 6th, 2006, 01:44 PM Yes and it's already outdated.
But i think it is nice and unique.
shayan May 6th, 2006, 02:38 PM sorry but its everything but unique just go to a one million plus city in Russia or China and you will find thousends of that kinda appartments
Gilgamesh May 6th, 2006, 03:10 PM There are plenty of more ugly cement structures in Tehran...
persian May 6th, 2006, 03:23 PM Stop editing all your posts.
Gilgamesh May 6th, 2006, 03:28 PM Why?
persian May 7th, 2006, 02:22 PM You write something bad about some one and then you quickly change it so no one can see it. :runaway:

shugs May 9th, 2006, 06:40 PM Nice pics man :)
Personally I think when you drive past the Atisaz complex at night on Chamran/Parkway they look impressive BUT in the day well theyr a bit dirty... white buildings and Tehran air pollution dont go well. I have a friend who has an appartment in Atisaz, they really do cost a bomb to buy and the charges arent low :runaway:
Oh btw ThePersian what was air pollution like when you went? are they still enforcing the odd/even numberplate restriction on cars entering the city centre?
shayan May 9th, 2006, 06:47 PM well done ( i still think they are commi blocks but the mountains look nice.. :?)

the pollution is bad in tehran. When i entered the city it smelled just like New York (which is also polluted badly).. the pullution affects the white buildings heavily.. you can see how old they are.. some are almost darkgray.
your numberplate question i dont really understand.. come again?
when i entered the city.. you only had to buy a ticket costing something like €0,20. i noticed nothing about numberplate restrictions

When I went in December they closed schools and ofices for 3 days and i cought a chest infection :S...
About the number plates in December the traffic police/governing body enforced that on certain days number plates that end with an even number can enter the centre i.e. within the main ring roads like hemmat, parkway, etc. and on other days odd number ending plates could enter... if you dont know what im banging on about obviously theyve taken away this restriction

I rest my case, the buildings are old and outdated.
BTW, Thepersian good pics...Im glad that you copyrighted them, something I forgot to do. :(
Just an advice though, in the future you might wanna add a bigger copyright mark that no one can erase using paint. A lot of people steal other peoples photos and dont hesitate to even take credit for them. :sleepy: :bash:
I cant wait to see more of your pix.

thanks for the advice. Im thinking about making non visible watermarks or putting my real name in the bottom of the screen
or i could make a big ugly transparant watermark :).. but that looks incredibly ugly..
just for now.. i think ill just put a simple name in my picture, but big enough that it cant be cropped and published again
_BPS_ May 25th, 2006, 08:50 AM Nice pics. Is this a resedential complex?
Gilgamesh May 25th, 2006, 04:50 PM ^^ Yes
