Wow.. It's almost done! lot improvement since I went to Jakarta last January! Finally the project come to reality, whatever happened to the hotel? Are they not going to make it? By the way, i really dislike the color they are choosing, but well, it's something different for our beloved city!!

they cancelled the hotel and redesigned it.
my friends who live there said that PIM2 will be opened in the end of this month
there will be a fitness centre(celebrity fitness) like in PI-EX, sogo dept-store and some other cafes and shops...

It'll be a very nice mall , no doubt. But I was never a big fan of those multi-color schemes which is becoming a trend with new malls these days... looks cheap! just my opinion though.

One more thing, that PI Mall 2 land brings back a lot of memories for me. I used to learn how to ride a bicycle when it was just an empty ground.

I wish they are more creative with the facade with something look more modern and stylish. Facade with wooden looking will look very nice. Or steel. Of maybe a mall with tropical jungle theme, garden looking will be very refreshing. But again, high cost ;).

PI Mall is always my favourite place for hang out. It has wide... what d'you call it... sidewalk? in front of each shops.
Despite its located on prime area, Pondok Indah, the stuff they're selling are just so-so. Not the same level as Plaza Indonesia or Plaza Senayan. Then I tend to agree PI Mall is considered as middle-class shopping center.

PIM is rather old compared to other malls like plaza senayan/ plaza indonesia but PIM is still a major destination to shop or hangout.
i think PIM is not considered as middle class because of the audience.
despite the design is kinda old but it has almost same features like PI/PS
malls that i considered as middle class is mall that has the "middle" audience and "so-so" features. i.e= plaza semanggi, mal ambasador, blok m plaza, etc..

I'm in fact very disappointed with Plaza Semanggi..... :(

ksunarjo, pls don't get offended with my comments....well, let me rephrase. "Middle-upper" class is probably a better description for PIM. But clearly its not in the same league as Plaza Indonesia and Plaza Senayan - the top 2 elite shopping centers in jakarta.

EX is colourful because it targets a different market (youths) and is more 'life-style' oriented with nice cinemas, gym etc. It is not an 'upper class' mall as such.

hmm I think another way of classifying those malls are "CBD" malls (Senayan, Plaza Indo etc) and "Suburban" malls (PIM, Artha Gading, etc.)

i used to live near pondok indah when i was a kid, in a town called bukit golf and we would aaaaaaaalways go to the pondok indah mall.. i stll remeber alot about it.. hehe theres a big water slide outside right? and a ripleys believe it or not wacky strange stuff museum. and the little bookstore and the theaters n yoshionya upstairs and the supermarket.. but it has probably changed alot since then.. because that was like ten years ago... but i still remeber alot.. i even remember my dads address ...and how the house looks like...

Pondok Indah is a rich suburb, no doubt about that.. but yeah I agree with alvin.. PI mall is not soo high class compared to Plaza Senayan and Plaza Indonesia..

actually i don't live in pondok indah anymore.. i curently live in kemang cuz my house in PI is so big! i just live with my parents.. that's why we decided to move to apartment cuz it's more efficient and less "macet" and the good thing is.. It's near everywhere...

They should make your first 15 minutes free. That way if you are just dropping off someone or cant find a parking space, you dont have to pay for parking because you didnt park at all!

what if ppl only want to pick up someone?? do they get charged as well?? cuz last time when ma mom and me was drivin to this place i forgot what it was,, we told the guy that we're only picking up ma sista, we just had to show the parking card to the other guy. if it's only 1 minute or less (i think).. so we didnt have to pay,,

wow, the interior is quite modern, reminds me of some new malls in Beijing!

its just the exterior that leaves a lot to be desired....it is so 90s ...soo outdated and ugly..

yup i'm amaze, the traffic of the mall concept is 'long corridor' with each outlet is placed on our left and right.

compare it with Artha Gading and Plaza Semanggi seems u will get lost when u go there for the first time... :)

Nice! Very high end...it reminds me of the Kelapa Gading Malls, only a tad more upscale. A definate improvement over PIM #1.

Thanks for bringing the picture here Encon. I really like how everything is reflective in PIM2. That, combined with warm hues makes PIM2 a more exciting shopping spot than, say... Senayan City.

Not sure about Chadstone though, I feel that PIM2 is a lot more classy than Chadstone.
