I'll start my Buenos Aires pictures series showing Plaza de Mayo,where most of the country's government buildings are located,and then show you some pictures of Florida street,the biggest retail street of this amazing city.Unfortunately the weather was not very good when I was there,anyway I hope you like the pictures. :)

these buildings are located in Avenida de Mayo,wich connects Plaza de Mayo with the Congress Square.

Si,me gusta el Cabildo.Es el unico edificio colonial de la Plaza de Mayo e jo credo que fica bem con todos aqueles edificios del inicio del siglo XX.

En realidad el cabildo es una imitación, ¿lo sabías Phobos?
Fue construido en 1940...

¿No lo sabías? El cabildo original sufrió muchas modificaciones, que buscaban darle un aspecto "europeo"... en los años 40 se intentó darle el aspecto original (aunque mucho menor que lo que era).

mucho menor porque ya le habian sacado 3 arcos de cada lado para abrir avenida de mayo y diagonal sur.

Asi es, por eso el tamaño de la torre de hoy es menor al que tenía originalmente, para mantener la proporcion...

ah, eso no lo sabia.
yo tenia entendido que la original era de la altura de la de ahora, que en un momento, entre tantas reformas, la habian hecho como 10 metros mas alta, y en el 40 volvieron a la altura original.

Mmmm quizás haya sido asi... también oí que en una de las tantas reformas la torre voló...
