source,my trip was fantastic:very paradoxical country,a mixture of history and modernity:tel aviv is a city which seems under perpetual (re)construction.
i like the more hertzelia,raanana and jerusalem which are very well preserved from intensive construction compared with other cities.
i didn't like ashdod,to much "balagan",to much high rises which have no originality and destroy the landscapes.
in tel aviv,the neghborhood i prefer were "neve tzedek" which could be like marbella in spain in some years.i liked also the kirya and the business center area.
what to add,very good nightlife,i went to the vox,dome,haeman 17.i met three israeli sweet israeli girls.so good time for me.
two things i didn't like:israelies are too stressed,excited( even though i know why),service in hotels,restaurants were better 5 years ago:
one more thing,the social gaps are visible even for tourists now.i went 5 times in israel and i had never seen som many mercedes ans bmw. hope olmert will be more concerned by this problem than bibi

only the service in restaurants and hotels depends where you stayed and on the people being professional.. which unfortonately people dont know how to be.. they may be too excited like you call it - "over-eager".. but thats how it is.. mentality is the hardest thing to change.

yes I would advise tourists (especially french speaking) to always check what price SHOULD be paid on something and always seem like you know he is screwing you..

good news: I passed by the construction site of the first International bank tower /Rotchild bl. , and for my surprise they finished the work of the under ground levels of the tower . so now there is aconcrete floor at the street level,cos the last time I was there I could see only ahole in the ground. :) :) :)

In Jerusalem it's around 15 at noon, and below 10 at night those days...

it can go in november down to 10 at night, and in the height of winter below zero in jerusalem and north israel and some desert areas.

In most of the country it doesnt go below 5-10 even in severe winters.

winter "rain season" is from late october (usually rains on Sukkot) until february and sometimes even march.
you get a lot of sunny days in winter, that are equivalent to autumn in europe.

even though were small, because the landscape is the most diverse in the world per area, we get huge temprature changes between very close areas.
so jerusalem, the dead sea, eilat the golan or ashdod could have 5 totally different climates!

The Hudson's Bay ruins our temperature...it sends down all the cold fronts... and the energy comes from the west where the weather is ok.. So while in Vancouver it is +2 in Toronto it is -12 because of the bay...
