This one rarely got any attention thru its 12 months or so of construction. The 27 storey/80 high apartment block known as REX HOUSE is nearing completion. It is one of many new 80m height limit towers built along kent Street which is now starting to form canyon like vistas!
Its now getting a paint job and internal infrastucture completed and will be Sydney's newest highrise apartments!

from Kent st, the sheer face rises to 50m and then set backs 6m to highrise section.

It doesn't look that bad. That area is starting to resemble Milsons Point.

Not good, but not bad either. This is a building that for all I knew could of been their since the dawn of time:D

When I walk to work over Pyrmont Bridge I sometimes look at Rex House and its Meritonia next-door-neighbour, I feel disappointed. The design is just plain boring and conventional. Just like Meriton's Summit apartments opposite World Tower. What the hell were they thinking?

I think both Rex and Trafalgar (the Meriton one) look alright from the Kent St view (actually the Trafalgar would look quite cool with a bit of bold colour here and there), but for the frontage facing Darling Harbour they've both just gone for the maximum glazed surface facade, clearly to capitalise on the views. This makes the western front of the towers pretty ordinary.

Well looks like REX HOUSE is Sydney's newest apartment tower.
I asked painter how long would it be for moving in and he said next month!
