Just curious. I know that Japanese writing incorporates Chinese letters and was wondering how you guys call Chinese cities. Could someone please right in romanji the Japanese way of saying:

Beijing
Shanghai
Hong Kong
Dalian
Shenyang
Qingdao
Nanjing
Guangzhou
Chongqing
Kunming
Tianjin
Harbin

I'm guessing it's pretty close to Chinese.

curioulsy there is no clear rule for pronouncing chinese, taiwanese and korean cities in the Japanese language. it's dependend on custom only.

as for chinese cities, basically they are pronounced in japanese 'on yomi', but some cities (mainly major cities, such as beijing, shanhai, and hong kong) are pronounced in chinese way conventionally. no one pronounce hong kong as 'koukou' in japanese 'on yomi'. But on the other hand, no one say chongqing or something, its pronounciation is 'jukei' for the japanese.

as for taiwanese cities, as they are close-knit cities for the japanese historically, some cities are pronounced in Japanese 'kun yomi', not 'on yomi'.
