Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple is another place where peace is but a memory. With seven concentric walls, 21 gopurams and a total area of 2.5 square kilometres, the temple shocks with its scale alone, and the fact that the biggest gopuram on the outside wall is a monstrous 73m high makes it hard to miss, and worth not missing.

sorry to say this but honestly, it is a religious place with thousands of years of rich history and i don't think we should have ppl rating such a historical monument just by lookin' at some pics.

It's no different to all the cathedrals and mosques that appear in this section but I hear what your saying.

Anyway, 6/10 needs more neon lights.

In srirangam temple the body of "RAMANUJAR" is preserved for 820 years and above.RAMANUJAR is being kept in "VASATNA MANDAPAM".
Vasantha mandapam is opposite to chakarathalvar sanathi(near to museum).One can see the nails etc.it is similar to egyptian mummies.
For every six months a natural paste ,a combination of saffron flower(kumkuma flower),pacha kalpuram is applied to preserve his body.
I read this in a book and went i saw .
