I'm found some websites about population being declined in Lakeside, it's about nearly 39,412 in 1990's and declined to 19,560 in 2000's. What happened to Lakeside about population declined?

Maybe it was a misprint because I've never heard of any population decline in Lakeside or any other San Diego suburb. Lakeside actually isn't even its own city, it is unincorporated county land so maybe part of it was annexed by neighboring Santee or El Cajon which are their own cities.

It is possible that chunks of what was considered Lakeside chose to become part of Santee or El Cajon in the early 90's. I know that it has not happened in recent years.

I know they lost alot of blue collar jobs out there and had some problems with Neo-Nazi groups out there clashing with the local immigrant community as well. Might be a cause. As for population stats I don't know.

Yeah, it's happened in 1980's and 1990's.

I think that population will increase again today. Some area of Lakeside was secede and merged with other cities like Santee or El Cajon.

Isn't Lakeside supposed to be a rodeo town? I saw something on PBS about the community. A lot of racial tension durning the 90s from waht they said. Interesting all the same.
