View Full Version : Queens Birthday- RAF flypast
Peyre June 12th, 2005, 06:19 PM Well I usually get to see the thing on its way back. I live right near RAF Northolt, and so the formation usually uses it for navigation and stop overs if needed. Got a brilliant view as it screemed along my back garden. Wave after wave of E3D sentry's, Harriers, Jaguars, Nimrod, Tornadoes. Hehe, was queit a sight, everyone in the steet looked up in awe for a while.
Zim Flyer June 12th, 2005, 06:34 PM I haven't seen any pictures of it, but I believe they had two Eurofighters flying in it for the first time - must have been quite a sight.
potto June 12th, 2005, 09:38 PM yeah i was there, wanted to take some photos of tourists at changing of the guard, to my suprise I appeared right in the middle of trooping the colour! Fucking amazing and all the tourists were dead impressed. It was all so brilliantly done, simple but effective, nothing over the top, no embarrassing kitshch or trying to appear cool... from the massed ranks of cavalry and charging artillery to lone set of bagpipers marching back to the barracks all very tasty.
the fly past was impressive, not big, but just the way each 'wave' suddenly appeared. The Eurofighters looked lovely.
was a crazy day, to just illustrate how awesome london is... in that couple of hours right next door to each other, I saw a huge traditional pageant with people from all over the world enjoying and trying to get a look in. Then was in Trafalgar Square listening to DJs who had turned the entitre square into a sound stage while watching some street dancers when literally a hundred fully nude cyclists and roller bladers past through the square, from i can only guess down the mall on their way to parliament square.... crazy crazy place!!!
Peyre June 13th, 2005, 03:58 PM damn I must of missed the Eurofighters, because I heard two close loud waves of planes before I jumped out of my seat. The Eurofighters did however fly in the formation for the Queen's Jubilee celebration (when the concord and red arrows flew over London), I went down onto Waterloo Bridge to see that, I took some photos, I'll have to dig them out and scan them sometime.

Yep, I saw a lonley planet on London, and the jist of it was that London is one of the most amazing places in the world because it has all these wonderful contrasting things living and working along side each other.
Canary Wharf June 15th, 2005, 10:15 AM London is controlled anarchy.
