Most of the houses here were built in the 1920's and are primarily made up of the Spanish-style variety, with some cottages and tudors mixed in. Here's a quick tour of my neighborhood I did a couple of months ago.

I love the Kensington area. I always used to go hang out at Kensington Coffé and Lestats in Normal Heights (or is it North Park? Can't remember!)

I always like the neon signed neighborhoods of San Diego. It makes all the communities seem to be little cities, especially Kensington.

Sweet ass pics man. You are lucky to be able to afford that house in Kensington, well I don't know you may be renting it with 5 other people.... :jk:

I think Kensington and the north western section of Mission Hills (Up on the Mesa above Old Town) have the best old residential architecture in SD. They both have such a cool feel to them. I like the lamp posts in the middle of the street (they have those in Point Loma and the Mission Hills hood).

True. What are the prices in the neighbourhood averaging around?

Just picture perfect Southern California. Where is Kensington within SD?

Thanks for for the great responses, all!

LaJollaCA-

You'll be glad to know that both Kensington Coffee and Lestat's are still as popular as ever

Mello & rt_0891-

Fortunately, I bought the house 4.5 years ago and was able to afford it then. I could never buy in this neighborhood now since you can't even find a fixer-upper for less than $675,000! The house 4 doors down from me is 1,600 square feet with 3 bed/2 bath and it is selling for $935,000!!!!! Absolutely ridiculous!!!!!!!

Inland Empire-

Kensington is located on the canyon bluffs just south of Qualcomm Stadium off the 15 freeway. Downtown San Diego is only 12 minutes away by freeway.
