great picutres, docklands is coming along very nice, but it still looks like a ghost town. That should all change in the next decade or so.....

Great pictures!

So in that model, all the white buildings are proposed or approved??? They have somthing to do with that big docklands project right?

Great shot! If you're unhappy with them you should try using a tripod when its darkish like that.
Or just sit it on the roof of the car :)

Yarra's Edge 5. And you hit the nail on the head without knowing it ;). That 'black' building was advertised to be Gold, and displayed as such in all the renders, etc. However it has ended up a dark browny colour (although can tint gold in certain light)... this has caused a major fuss among some people whom had purchased appartments whom went as far as taking them to court to get money back, etc...

thanks guys, I am only a newbie when it comes to photography!! These digital cameras are great! I can never find the best place to take the photo.

and on yarras edge there was a group of chinese who wanted theri money back, as they thought the building was going to be gold, and gold in chinese culture means luck, so they want there money back because it is black.

btw when taking a pic with a digital camera you have to be completley still when then lens opens and closes right? because some pics came out a bit "warped"?

you mean fuzzy? if so then yeah try too..

I think most camera's have a auto focus function where u can hold it half way and it will focus on the point your taking, and then you press fully to take the shot..

It might help but see how you go.

Also as dan stated, even when its not dark A tripod can help heaps if your photos are a bit fuzzy. But i do know that if its like my camera (being a lower grade) you will probably have problems in general with long distance shots.

hmmm, i have herd you can get them from k-mart or some similar place like that for 50 bucks. But there Should be a camera house somewhere near you, so go for a drive and have a look. I don't personally own one, but they arnt that expensive...

Just try resting it on somthing first like your car or somthing and doing a countdown shot so you don't touch the camera at all when it goes off and see if that firstly helps your shot. You may spend money on somthing that wont fix the problem so give that ago first.

Wonderful pics Lighting~Bolt. :)

Great when the sun still gets through major bleakness. Gives the glassies a vibrant touch. Rialto and Vic Pint look fabbo.

StuThat is way cool.

I have the initial YE5 huge glossy brochure, and it was definitely marketed as a "gold" tower. :| I wonder what was going on in the marketing peoples' heads...that somehow gold was much, much more attractive?...Ovbviously. The "complaints" are quite valid.

Docklands is a great place to take photos. The tower on the right is Mirvac Yarra's Edge Tower 5 ... not sure whether it's good ettiquette to add photos to a thread like this, but here's another view of it:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v294/ooompaloompa123/Melbourne/Docklands/ye2-5_2744.jpg

This was the tower that should have been golden, and is, apparently the subject of a legal dispute over some of the unlucky black apartments.

Good photos, Lightning~bolt, Me, I'd never take photos in a car-park unless I was trying to make a point. Here's them Mirvac buildings again (one to four) ... I love the curves on towers three and four: they're so round they look like they're ... two-dimensional cut-outs.

Camera shake can be a real problem, especially in low-light conditions. Last year I opted for a relatively low-resolution (2.+ megapixel) camera because it had a 10x optical zoom, and "image stabilization" which cuts out much of my shaking. Even so, I sometimes find it handy to lean on a lamp-post or a park-bench while I snap:

One I posted elsewhere from pretty much the same point and the same time as the first of these shots:

i love those shots of dockalnds, only if i could obtain one which was lightly elevated - the view from one of those apartments,. ive noticed that 7melbourne have added another logo to their facade, the bright red/orange one in the corner - talk about logo overkill, there are 3 7logos in that one pic and on the other side of the broadcast centre are two other logos
